Take the D3 offer or not?

My DC turned down two Ivies to play as a walk-on at a top-10 LAC. Had to beat out recruits, and captained the team. No regrets -- it's sad for 18-year-old skilled athletes to abandon their sports just when they're approaching peak performance. Depending on field, there should be zero handicap in terms of graduate school acceptance prospects.
