I hear this argument all the time. And it makes no sense. So it's okay that we support illegal immigrants because they're only harming other illegal immigrants? Sorry, but I can't get behind that.

Surprisingly, they acknowledged illegal immigrants commit more crimes, per capita, but they attempted to dismiss it by basically saying, who cares, the native population doesn't see the brunt of it. So bizarre. And of course they put DUI, identity theft, stolen social security # into the victimless crime category, to omit referencing them.

THIS. Obviously, there are U.S. citizens committing crimes all the time. The difference is, they're (unfortunately) *citizens* of this country, so are entitled to a fair trial and when found guilty - they're sent to prison. Illegal immigrants, on the other hand, shouldn't be here in the first place. If they weren't here, the crimes they commit wouldn't be happening. We have enough to contend with, policing our own citizens. We don't need the additional burden of policing another country's citizens.

There was a thread on this site a couple weeks ago about DeVos’ decision to get rid of the stupid rules Obama put in place regarding accusations of sexual assault on college campuses.
Interesting that I can no longer find that thread - the people who posted were OVERWHELMINGLY in favor of the change because the process Obama put in place did not provide the accused with due process. I guess the thread was deleted because it made so much sense.

And why shouldn't white college students afforded basic due process? The left (generally correctly) pushes for greater due process for those accused of crimes and undocumented immigrants facing deportation and/or criminal charges. Eye witness statements and other evidence is often (again generally correctly) is viewed skeptically. Yet, in the context of rape cases, especially on campus, the alleged victim's account is taken as sacrosanct and any effort to question the account or the accompanying evidence is viewed as improper.

This is such a great point. Liberals bend over backwards making sure illegal immigrants receive due process and always have the benefit of the doubt. Even when these same illegal immigrants are accused of rape. But if the accused rapist is *white*?? Forget it. He's guilty. Such hypocrisy, it actually makes me nauseous.

Mediation is not due process. Colleges should report suspected rapes to police and get out of the process.

Colleges should not be mediating criminal investigations. That is the definition of impeding an investigation.

I am conservative and I want rapes to be dealt with by trained investigator not some touchy feely professor who cares more about their reputation.

It's embarrassing for real conservatives what this administration is doing.
