Are Tiki Torches a social taboo or faux pas now in light of Charlottesville?

People who are at the party may understand perfectly, but people driving or walking by and seeing it might NOT understand. They may make assumptions about you without knowing the real deal, and then they might come back later and do something to you house or your car. Key it or whatever.

People do this. I do this ! I key the hell out of cars

Why would you key someone's car? Are you a sociopath?

DP. I key cars that have republican bumper stickers or stickers that have messages meant to troll progressives. I don't do it all the time, because it's not worth the risk of getting caught. But if no one is watching, I do it as often as I can. I'm not the least bit ashamed of that. It's a civic duty.

So you're damaging personal property and committing a crime because you don't agree with somebody else's opinion? That's pretty much the definition of being a sociopath.

It's not at random, which would be a defining trait of a sociopath. This is targeted. Not sociopathic at all. It's a vendetta. Sociopaths act without conscience, empathy or remorse. By only targeting certain cars obviously belonging to the poster's opposition, as well as being concerned about getting caught, she clearly demonstrates she isn't a sociopath. You may not agree with her methods, but she isn't a sociopath. I support her efforts, haha! I wish her much succcess!

If you want ashamed of it you would do it out in the open and in front of the owners. I guarantee you you would not do that and you don't do it in front of strangers. You are a coward and that's why you do what you do .

What's an interracial birthday party?

One half of the party was black, the other half was white.

So many PC morons, it boggles the mind. I think I'll purchase - and burn - some Tiki torches, just because.

Political correctness has gone out of control in this country. A tiki torch is just a tiki torch, people.

Until it is used by Neo Nazis at a rally. I wouldn't use them now.

I'm sure neo-Nazis also use iPhones and possibly wear Levi's. Guess you'll be boycotting those products too?

Life must be exhausting for you. And those around you.

In short that person needs help.

We didn't even know tiki torches were a thing with the racists, we just thought they'd look nice and maybe keep the bugs away. Will people in the neighborhood or drivers passing by think we're having some kind of kkk thing? We don't want people thinking we're having some kind of rally or are associated with that, and then vandalizing our house or cars later.

Bahahaha! Op surely you jest.

They didn't use them to light the night to unite the right. Just the torches. So no thanks!

All this accomplishes is withholding business from a company that condemned the white supremacists. How does that help?

I call that a party.

I wouldn't have anything to do with that sort of stuff right now. Too easy for confusion.

Your answer tells me a lot about you.

If you're confused about the actual message and what we all learned from the Charlottesville, then I'm sorry, I don't know what to say to you. Hint: it has nothing to do with tiki torches.

It was hilarious that the white supremacists used bamboo tiki torches in their march. Tiki torches are the symbol of tacky and fun backyard bbq/luaus.
