If money was not a consideration, would you do private school for high school or APS

Private school is sort of like CAVA, a twist on the typical bowl/salad, not for everyone and more expensive.

Hmm. I guess that means APS is kind of like Wendy's, which is typical fast food, but somehow leaves people sitting in the drive-thru lane too long.

I think you mean, "If money were not a consideration..." Subjunctive case.

APS. I'd rather my kids be with smart kids and not just rich a-hole ones.

Well then I hope your kids are at Wakefield, because you're SOL if you're at Yorktown.

Many of the Yorktown boys already look like Steve Bannon and they're 16 or 17.

You mean mood?

We are in a good pyramid, but if money wasn't the issue I would put my kids in a good private in a heartbeat. You can't beat the small class sizes. Last year my 5th grader had 29 kids in his class and 32 during math instruction. Terrible.

Generally both?

All private schools are not created equal, by a long shot. Some people seem to think private = automatically better than public, but you really need to compare specific school to specific school.

If money was no object, you wouldn't be living in Arlington.

NP. If money was no object, I wouldn't be living in the DC metropolitan region at all. Or the Eastern half of the United States, for that matter. BUT, since my career is here, if I could do it all over again I'd have chosen Arlington over pretty much any other jurisdiction in the region. Closest thing to laid back and genuine this cesspool of uptight prigs has to offer. I'm counting the days to retirement and moving someplace where people actually have souls.

To those saying private, which ones? Not interested in the big 3 culture or commute.

LOL. I'm guessing you haven't seen Nancy Van Doren preside over a School Board meeting or watched W-L parents beg not to be moved to Wakefield.

No kidding. Everyone is happy in Arlington as long as they get their way. Since we are now an overcrowded mess, no one is happy.

Holy crap. You think Arlington is laid back? This County (at least the North side) is filled with the most uptight, helicopter, in your business Type As around competing against each other for everything. Bunch of lemmings.

My sister was just moving her oldest into College and couldn't stop talking about the a-hole parents from Arlington micro-managing everything .

I live in AC and just laughed.
