because he's an unstable publicity hungry nutjob, who has blown the whistle on actual corruption. that is quite often how whistleblowing goes. If he didn't have actual transcripts, it would be a different story. but it so happens that unstable nutjobs are the ones also likely to be secretly recording conversations.

People get caught in crossfire all the time in DC.

Crossfire? Seriously? Two shots in the back. Does anyone know how close the range was?

There was no crossfire. He was shot point blank.
There was no attempted robbery.

You are in no position to rule out an attempted robbery. If this was a professional assassination like some of you suggest, it was completely botched. Seth was shot in the back rather than the head and left alive at the scene. He had injuries that suggested that he had engaged in a struggle. This looks a lot more like a failed robbery than a hit job.

I stated my opinion, based on the fact that there's zero evidence of a robbery. Perhaps you know more than I do.

When in DC was the last time there was a "botched robbery" when nothing was taken, and the victim was shot dead? Btw, no one here said "assassination".

The critical question now is, was Debbie's IT guy at the party with Seth the night of his murder?

David Folkenflick has a report this morning about a lawsuit filed by former DC police detective Rod Wheeler against Fox News:

"Wheeler alleges Fox News and the Trump supporter intended to deflect public attention from growing concern about the administration's ties to the Russian government. His suit charges that a Fox News reporter created quotations out of thin air and attributed them to him to propel her story."
...

"On April 20, a month before the story ran, Butowsky and Wheeler — the investor and the investigator — met at the White House with then Press Secretary Sean Spicer to brief him on what they were uncovering.

"The first page of the lawsuit quotes a voicemail and text from Butowsky boasting that President Trump himself had reviewed drafts of the Fox News story just before it went to air and was published."

Spicer confirmed the meeting.

It is unbelievable that the White House and Fox News would be interfering with a homicide investigation in this manner.

An earlier thread about the Seth Rich conspiracy is here:

Aren't we still looking for the Russian Collusion?

some quick googling suggests people have been killed in botched robberies in New Jersey, Oklahoma, and the Bronx. I didnt find any for DC, but not sure why the examples elsewhere are not applicable. Are muggers in DC uniquely skilled?

Perhaps the DNC IT department is uniquely skilled. The murder investigation is still ongoing, so you can't jump to any definite conclusions yet. I imagine the D.C. Police Department is working very hard to find the real killer.

The other thread had links to a lot of examples of this.

Feinberg said that during a meeting held on May 26, his superiors asked him bring up the story in the press briefing.

“It was, ‘We want you to ask about Seth Rich and just, you know, ask about the case and if those revelations should put an end to the Russia hacking narrative and the investigation,” said Feinberg.

According to Feinberg, his bosses handed him a termination letter when he declined. He described the situation as “disturbing.”
