Going through a tough time - what's the funniest book you've read?

I thought This Is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper was hilarious. Family reunion during shiva.

Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion is very funny as well.

Agree. But get the audiobooks. He reads them and the delivery enhances the humor. Don't get his latest one though, the diaries. It's the least funny. Everything else is superb.

If you're cool with slightly dark/offbeat humor, I *highly* recommend Let's Pretend this Never Happened, by Jenny Lawson.

Impossible to read without losing it. I've read most of the books mentioned here but Jenny Lawson is my absolute fave. He blog about beyonce the rooster remains forever a favorite.

knock knock mother effer! god she's great.

But honestly, this book (Let's pretend) is what you should read. It is hilarious. I was DYING LAUGHING while on vacation with my inlaws. It got awkward because I'd put the book down to collect myself and then be shaking with tears and sweating I was trying not to look like a psycho.

The only other book that has come close was Me Talk Pretty One Day. I need to re-read that one.

Watch some "between two Ferns" videos. Zach Galifinakis is so funny and the videos are short.

+1 to Sedaris and Bryson (personally I remember laughing out loud reading A Walk in the Woods but the australia one is also good!)

I tried to read the raccoon puppet story to my husband, and I literally could not talk, I was laughing and crying so hard.

James and the Giant Peach. Roald Dahl uses his words cleverly and in a funny way. it's more funny if you read it out loud. And this is an old classic.
