| Julia Sweeney's God Said Ha is a funny book and DVD about going through a hard time. |
| Thank You for Smoking by Christopher Buckley |
yea, and Carl Hiasson |
^ sorry, misspelled that: Carl Hiaasen |
Sorry to hear about your tough time. We read Apologize, apologize for my book club last month and its hysterical and a peek inside an upper crust but very dysfunctional family..think it will be a great distraction. I really enjoyed it. Hope things look up soon. |
Impossible to read without losing it. I've read most of the books mentioned here but Jenny Lawson is my absolute fave. He blog about beyonce the rooster remains forever a favorite. |
| I suggest listening to the comedians' books on audio - e.g., Tina fey, Amy poelher, kalin, etc. |
| Books by Mindy Kaling. They easy to read and funny! |
| It's a kids book, but it always makes me laugh out loud. "Harris and Me" by Gary Paulsen. |
| Carol Burnett's autobiography, One More Time. Mainly because she is such a funny lady, and I didn't realize that she had a tough but funny/awkward life growing up and truly made lemonade out of some of the lemons she was dealt. |
+1. I recently listened to Tina Fey's Bossypants while driving to a funeral (in Upper Darby!). I had never though to listen to the comedians' audiobooks before. |
| I loved Bossypants. |

OP here, thank you for all of the great suggestions! I have read most of David Sedaris' books, but not the new one.
Really appreciate it. |
+1, I loan my copy out all the time. |
| Bridget Jones' Diary is hilarious. Much better than the movie. |
