Retiring, I thought? Or at the very least leaving of his own choice.

The superintendents mentioned 4 middle schools have principals vacancies - Hardy Brookline have been mentioned. What are the other two?

I'm hearing that Stuart-Hobson may be another.

Maybe this is part of the renewed effort on middle schools.

Yup, leaving of his own accord. He hired a lot of good teachers in his six years at Brent. Enough said, good luck to him.

Hiring process seems really top down (school community gets a couple of weeks to weigh in, pretty much a joke).

It's true, she resigned. She just sent an email to parents.

She sent a farewell letter that did not indicate a resignation. It was not an elective departure.

The achievement gap at Stuart-Hobson is atrocious. Jefferson does better with its low income/African-American students than SH does, and has a lot more poverty and kids coming in way behind than SH. I bet that was part of DCPS' decision to let her go.

And this is the principal's fault? What about the teachers'? Or more likely, the parents' and the effects of poverty? or perhaps we are still expecting miracles. I thought that concept died with the Rhee cheating scandal.
