Actually, you can. And people do. It's the culture of people bending rules at the top that trickles down and poisons the DCPS system, which in turn, helps fuel the charters. Just one of the many ways that DCPS shoots itself in the foot.

No, you can't buy in AU Park on a DC Director's salary. You also shouldn't have to move to AU Park to put your child in a decent school.

this thread ... if this investigation had upended actual "corruption," violation of law, or actual ABUSE of discretion the one and only "CORRUPT" Kaya would have been charged with something...buuut she was not. In the words of our current administration "The real story here is why are there so many illegal leaks coming out of Washington?"

My sentiments is that she had the discretionary right to do so and used it 7 times. To say yes 7 times compared to how many requests? Where are the crybabies who asked and didn't get preferential treatment? Ain't no big thing at all...I remember back in the day a student could initiate their own transfer with just a phone call downtown (12th Street).

Why? They didn't do anything wrong. They asked, she decided. Those are the rules. The IG criticized Henderson, not the parents.

Sheez. Do you really want to drag children into this? Again, these are DC residents. They did not commit residency fraud. They didn't do anything that any other DC resident couldn't have done. They asked, she decided.

This isn't like the cops from MD who knowingly put a bunch of kids in DC schools without out-of-state tuition. Or that crazy former principal who let her MD grandson go to DC schools for free. These were cases of flat-out fraud. And yes, the adults deserved to be outed because charges were brought against them.
