I was leaving a terrible job that reported to a control freak and the boss kept needling me (I said I'd stay for another week or two). She kept at it so I finally took my office key out of my purse, slapped it on the counter, and walked out. It was incredibly liberating. |
I was at a bar staring off into space, when this crazy lady came up and poured a glass of wine on me. She left the bar in handcuffs. It is assault & battery. |
Not to mention a waste of (probably overpriced) wine! |
I'm the OP of the revenge. This happened in 2010 in WV. I went to a job fair on a whim before graduation and was hired by this company (not that day, but soon after). Until then I was planning on moving back to VA post grad, but I loved the area I was in and I still had friends in college, including a long term boyfriend. I started working for them about 3 weeks after graduation and was there for just under 2 years. I was not hired as an intern, but as an entry level HR person. That's how I had access to what the owner's son and his friend made and how I was able to leave his pay stub in the copier. The reason I had the pay stub is because before checks were distributed every 2 weeks (no direct deposit there), I had to make a photocopy of each check for our records. The owner was very much a "paper is proof" person, so everything was photocopied and filed. In that area of WV, a good paying job was $10-12/hour. That's why when the employee who found the pay stub and eventually circulated it to others was so furious. Two 19/20 year olds who brought nothing to the company and didn't even put in much face time in the company were being paid $42k/year (pre taxes). And when I say they didn't put in much face time, they shared an office and would come in between classes. Most of the time much of their "work" was done outside the office. No one really knew what they did. Sometimes when in the office they'd file. Other times they'd appear to just be sitting in their office working on homework while getting paid. I'm still friends on FB with many of those people who left and those that quit that day landed on their feet just fine. I have no idea how they justified their abrupt leave and as far as I know no charges were ever brought to the guy who walked through the office throwing papers and turning over chairs. As for the effect on the company, it was pretty substantial for a mid-size company in a somewhat economically depressed area. I think seeing the proof of the pay gap was just the final straw for many employees there. No one was ever really happy working there from what I saw. It was a job to provide for their families. I also know that those who left and put in their 2 weeks notice helped their fellow co-workers find jobs once they secured employment. One person scored a highly sought after job in a pharmaceutical company in the area and was able to bring in 3 other former employees through job recommendations. Maybe it's not the best revenge on this thread, but I was proud of it at the time and still think it was pretty good. |
We had the prenuptial to cover a lot of varied properties that we wanted to assure were kept separate. In addition to the stock portfolio, I owned a house and she rented, so planned to move into my house. It was laid out that should we divorce, the house in it's entirely including any payments made during marriage would be solely owned by me. I would also not have claim to any of her sizable retirement plan despite being eligible by law to half of it. And a number of other issues. As we married later in life, we both had some considerable assets that we wanted to preserve just in case. We laid out all of the things that would be off the table, the lawyers helped to make sure that the off-limits items were fairly balanced and then everything else (which was still considerable) would be marital and split. It was nice to have it laid out so that there were no expectations of inequity, that either of us was keeping too much, etc.
Actually my wife and I (co-parents of both of our children) are still happily married after 15 years with no plans to divorce anytime soon. Very stable marriage and there is very little stress between us about finances or money. |
This is not trolling |
I believe that DCUM is at full FFU with this thread. Let it be noted for the historical demise record. |
This thread has that uniquely unsavory flavor of people that only interact on the internet through FB and people that listen to TALK RADIO. Trumplandia. Horrifying. |
What is FFU? |
There's never been any real difference other than having the temperament to hide it better. |
Donald, is that you?? |
This happened a long time ago. I was dating this guy then moved in with him. Apparently he was still seeing his ex, and another woman who called. To say I was beyond mad would be an understatement. I moved out. Probably within 3 weeks he moved his ex into the home. It was all quite shocking, and I admit I stewed about it. I still had a house key, and remember I left something there...ok not really. While I knew they were both at work I drove over there, parked around the corner and went into the house. Messed up the bed a little, put the toilet seat up, put some underwear under the sheets, and threw a earring into the washer and dashed out of there.
I know really not nice, and stupid thing to do. Thankfully I've progressed. Ok so 3 days later his ex calls me thinking he had me to their house, and in their bed. I said, "no way I was done with him, and moved out because he was cheating." Then she said the underwear were like a size 10. I said, "do I look like a size 10!" Of course she believed me and why I put bigger underwear there to begin with. Apparently she was pretty upset with him, smacked him on the head, started packing and moved out a week later. Still can't believe I did that, but back then I was pretty happy about it and moved on. |
Many n0obs here are confused by internet terms such as 'revenge trolling'--they should consult hard copy Fishing and Gaming/AARP Guideline manuals. |
A bit crazy? Yes. BUT, I like it! Thanks for sharing that and I am glad you have elevated yourself. |
