Seriously, it is time to count your blessings. Once finished, sit down w/your husband & determine your short & long term goals. It is an expensive area & you need to decide what is most important to you & your family. If traveling & being out & social is a priority then perhaps you need to look at your budget & your residence. Do what is best for your family! Good luck!

It's the weird ampersand and exclamation point poster again. Hows Annapolis?

That is most people's problem when they try to keep up.

Get a job OP. Problem solved.

My DH earns a seven figure income but we still spend as if we still had a HHI of 250k. We just save a lot. We live in a middle/upper middle class neighborhood. Lots of military and government workers as well as lawyers and doctors. Never felt the need to keep up with the Joneses when we had a 250k income and now that we have a $1m+ income. We both came from humble beginnings and I never felt bad about what I didn't have. I had friends who had multi million dollar apts bought for them when they were in college, trust fund babies, etc. Life is too short to always compare what others have that you don't.

Maybe you should get a job. It would be easy to afford those extras if you worked. Many women work for that lifestyle.

Which is probably what 10% of the posts on this site are.

honestly, OP sounds annoying, but i don't think she's entirely wrong.

dh and i make 300k on paper, but after student loans, taxes, and living in dc....it's not a walk in the park.

but i am extremely grateful.

You sound house poor. Get a less expensive home, spend less and things will fall into place.
