Is there a second incident, or is it referring to this one?

Turkey is a NATO nation. It has been screwing with a patient bear (Putin). Putin's patience is probably wearing awfully thin. If and when he decides to extinguish the last of the Ottoman empire, Turkey, as a NATO nation, will be able to call upon America's sons to sacrifice their lives in WWIII.

We need no entangling alliances: military or economic.

When 9/11 happened, NATO nations backed us going after the Taliban. The US was actually the only nation to call on NATO for war.

Our founding forefathers, as great as they were, lived in a different time. Women couldn't vote. Blacks were not considered American citizens.

We didn't need any help killing criminals who had attacked us.

The more important question is why criminals attacked us. It's known as blowback, which is a consequence of liberal and neocons love of interventionism.

Extricating ourselves from entangling alliances is more crucial today than it was when our prescient Founding Fathers told us to stay the hell out of them, for now we could confront the reality of nuclear annihilation because of a stupid act of a NATO country.

Our foreign policy is long and complex, as is the ME situation. You can't pinpoint one point in time or one incident that caused 9/11. Both Repubs and Dems have made decisions in regards to foreign policy that have led to this situation. But, I will say that Bush going into Iraq was how ISIS was created.

This isn't 1816, and even then, we had some form of foreign policy. Our foreign policy is not just political but has economic ramifications. The US is a superpower but in today's world, we couldn't survive economically having isolationist policies.

LOL. You really think Trump is going to stay out of world affairs? The man who cannot stop pounding his chest. Good luck with that.

We're about to see the opposite of diplomacy over the next 4 years but I understand his rage. He has every right to be pissed off at the Syrian and Russian governments.

Two wrongs definitely don't make a right.

That said, if this guy has witnessed first hand what's going on in Aleppo, it's no surprising that he would snap.

you are insane. btw, what exactly are your sources on "what is going on in aleppo"?

Are you saying those kids we see covered in in blood and rubble are not real? Are you a Sandy Hook truther too?

right... if i am skeptical of reports from a town where there is not a single reporter, or a way to check where are the pictures coming from or whom are they representing, and where there is a clear motive on a side of one of the warring parties to at the very least exaggerate the sins of one side and whitewash their own i must also be a sandy hook truther. what i do i know, i only lived through a civil war and witnessed first hand fantastically exaggerated (by orders of magnitude as determined later by courts and independent experts when things calmed down) idiotic american media reports and hysteria of those who had to DO SOMETHING so that can feel virtuous.

I think you should go check for yourself, PP. Sounds like you would be safe in Aleppo. Go for it.

why would i check for myself? solving every problem in the world is beyond my abilities or don't bother to pretend that i can care about everyone everywhere. but you do, because you are such a great, great person, who cares soooo much about other people, she gets sooo outraged when she says disagreeable pictures on tv, no really, so much more outraged than others because she cares about other people so much more, and she feel reaalllly angry, and that is verrry important.

Sounds like Islamic terrorism trying to provoke Russia against Turkey.

The common enemy isn't Russia or Turkey, it's Islam.

The enemy is Islam? Erdogan is an Islamist and US allies in Syria are Muslim. Are they friends or enemies?

Well since the assassin said "God is Great!" while doing the deed I'll assume it's radical Islamic terrorism. Why you think Erdogan is behind it, perhaps you're smoking too much weed?

From NY Times caption to picture of killer:

A video shows the gunman, later killed, shouting “God is great!” and “don’t forget Aleppo, don’t forget Syria!”
Anonymous
More from NY Times:

The gunman, wearing a dark suit and tie, was seen in video footage of the assault shouting in Arabic: “God is great! Those who pledged allegiance to Muhammad for jihad. God is great!”

OK maybe that's not radical Islamic terrorism, let's call it Sinn Fein or Shining Path.

You happy now?

You might actually make more sense if you tried some weed. One Muslim doesn't represent all of Islam. I didn't blame Erdogan, but that was the implication of you saying Islam is the enemy.

Are you trying to make yourself look stupid? If so, you are doing a good job.
