The adoption plotline seemed less than realistic to me. Would they have really been able to just take home a random baby, having put in no paperwork of any kind, while grieving the loss of a bio baby? Maybe yes in 1979?

Liked it. My *one* issue that I'll let go is...the dad told him what happened. But he shouldn't have really known anything past the fire station drop off right? He explained how the mom died, he dropped him off, then (loosely quoting) "a couple adopted him, and it seemed right."

But what seemed right? I don't think he would have known the story after the drop off.

I would assume there was paperwork but maybe it wasn't that hard. I don't think there was a huge market for black babies born to drug addicted mothers.

When they were talking about challenger they said 7 and in second grade. I would have assumed it was 1978 (turning 8) or 1979. And at the beginning they had the box that said memories 75-79 or something similar.

Randall, the baby who was left at the fire station. He said his mother was a junkie who died. How does he know this information? If he was left at a fire station, how does he know who his bio mother is? How would he be able to give enough information about his bio father to a private investigator so that the PI could find him? How does he know ANY info about his bio father? The father said he didn't even remember leaving him at the fire station, so it's not like he was caught by the police after the fact.

Well that was the private detectives job in the beginning. He was on the case for some time then emailed Randall. He had maybe tracked the mother first. Death/birth records. And then interviewed family for clues on her boyfriend/husband's name.

I want to know why Randall told his wife he paid for the PI with the personal Amex, not the business one. Curious comment, unless he was just stating he was not hiding anything.

I think he told her while just nervously crazed like PP said - and the point is that she would see a charge on their card and that's what it was. If it was on the business card, I assume she wouldn't see the charge.
