| Why are so many of the movies we remember best from the '80s and even earlier? I don't really think the quality of movies has declined -- there were some clunkers then and there are some great movies now. But I'm wondering -- did we watch with more intensity when we actually had to go to movie theatres and our attention spans were greater? |
| You Tube the final scene of Roman Holiday...1953, with Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. |
|
The scene in Almost Famous where they all sing "Tiny Dancer" on the bus.
"You mocked me once, never do it again! I died that day---and you can die, too, for all I care." "Asssss youuuu wisssshhhh." (Princess Bride) |
While there are some good movies today most are stinkers. IMO only of course. |

My favorite movie scene was the live scene in Pride and Prejudice when Mr. Darcey tells Lizzie the she bewitched him body and soul and that he Love...love...loves her. An amazing love scene.

| In Return of the King, Aragorn's coronation. Everyone is bowing as he and Arwen walk through and as he approaches the hobbits they start to bow as well. He stops them and says "My friends, you bow to no one." and then he and EVERYONE bows towards the hobbits. I tell you, I wept at the theater during this scene. |
It made me teary eyed just now remembering the scene. |
| I will forever be a fan of the ending of Lost in Translation. An unexpected connection between two people during a trip abroad. The secret goodbye: https://youtu.be/lpOdAHwRnXY |

I should have chosen the scene with the music at the end. Music defines a scene: "Just like Honey" https://youtu.be/dPly3e12ca8 |
