I know, and it's her turn!"

Who the F thinks this? I'm a die-hard feminist and have worked with lefty liberal feminists for 20 years. NONE of us believe this. Your fear is showing.

I think people don't realize that the 'her' in her turn is a generic 'her' like when we say 'her story' instead of history.

All I can say is that while not all Trump supporters are racist, they are all incredibly privileged and object to that privilege being taken away. they are furious that white people who haven't graduated HIGHSCHOOL don't make as much $$ as asians/hispanics.blacks who have gone to grad school. Its ridiculous - how exactly do you expect to be anything but a failure if you don't finish high school? That is by definition the picture of a failure. FFS people in developing countries know that you need an education do succeed in life- Malala took a bullet for an education- how is Trump going to fix that? he went to college even though his family had enough $$ to set him up.

I mean you've got people in India and Indonesia shifting away from manufacturing and learning to program etc. . The human race doesn't need human beings to make stuff anymore we can make stuff with robots, handmade stuff are luxuries. If you are some one who can't work with only your mind you have to learn a trade like plumbing etc. . b/c mindless shiftwork is done. This change has been a longtime coming, it hasn't been sprung on anyone. For a very long time white americans got to shove everyone off the racetrack with cement barricades and complete only against one another. now everyone in the entire world's in the race- of course its has gotten harder, if you want it to go back to the way it was before you have to acknowledge that you want to oppress others and that is racist.

People need to look at world history- the european dominion over resources was caused by a series of historical accidents- its not sustainable, having an antiracist ideology is actually protective for white americans b/c most Asians and African are very racist, they feel about white american culture the same way whites feel about african american family structure. Its in european americans & latin Americans best interest to push tolerance b/c its not far that all the nations in Asia and the african coasts will have undergone the korean 'miracle'. Hiding your head in the sand like Trump is advocating isn't going to help. The Ming tried it as did the Mughals and the ottomans- look how well it turned out for them. We should advocate western values and tolerance until it convinces Asians and Africans b/c civilization doesn't always march forward- when the Roman empire fell it had devastating consequences, we lost access to basic technologies and scientific knowledge.

Bravo! A very good post but your target audience won't get any of it. Irony is, even most of the educated, smarter white people think there is American Exceptionalism(for some its code for white exceptionalism) that will sustain no matter what. History goes in ups and downs. When America produced textile goods using slave labor, it upended the textile industry in India and to some extent China. Like you said, china and India just shut down their border to trade trying to protect their huge market for themselves. In the end, what happened was technological advancement stopped coming in and they lost their position as the largest economies in the world by 1800s.

Americans under Trump are trying desperately to repeat the same isolation path. But so far saner and smarter minds have prevailed. America is in a much worse situation because of a tiny local market of 320 million compared to global market of 7 Billion. Today China is the worlds largest economy and India is 3rd largest economy. US is smarter to keep trade going by forming trade treaties and forming a larger exclusive zone for themselves to compete against the 2.5 Billion India-China market and the 700 million Euro market.

Clinton now pulling away from Trump in latest polling. The VFW is denouncing Trump's attacks directed at the Khan's. Warren Buffet is launching into Trump. Trump isn't sure whether he knows Putin and is unaware that Russia annexed Eastern Crimea. But he's going to look into it because, you know, he has all the best words.

Her hands are tremendous. The best. Unlike Trump's tiny hands. SAD!

What do you call a negative bounce? A cliff dive?

"While 36% of Americans are more likely to support Trump coming out of the GOP's four-day event, 51% are less likely to support the mogul after it."

A negative or inverse bounce is now known as a "Trump."

At what low poll point would the GOP abandon Trump ship all together ? Is there actreashold after which it turns from a trickle to a wave?

The Dem have to fight all the way no matter what because they don't have either chamber in Congress, but the GOP can choose to let the Presidency go to save the rest...

I don't know if there is a point in the polls, but certainly when Trump starts to negatively impact down ballot races. Every Republican Senator who is facing re-election has issued a statement opposing Trump's fight with the Khans. They clearly know that Trump is poison on that issue. House seats are so Gerrymandered that few may ever be impacted. But, today Trump subtly inserted himself into Paul Ryan's primary by giving a shoutout to Ryan's opponent. Once Ryan's primary is over -- a week from now -- he may be more willing to challenge Trump. Of course if by some fluke Ryan loses, he has no reason not to go completely bonkers against Trump.

Trump burned the last bridge with the RNC by threatening to back SuperPACs that would target incumbent Republicans. Of course it's nonsense because Trump doesn't have the cash to throw around like the Koch's, DeVos and Adelson, none of whom are stepping up to fund the pro-Trump SuperPACs.

I don't think this would drastically affect Trump since his voter are mostly anti-establishment. Whatever he says or does, he still holds on to a rock-solid 40-45%. The GOP loons who tied their fortunes to Trump deserve what they get.

Clinton is now ahead in all but one of the current polls listed on Real Clear Politics. The only one Clinton is not leading is the LA Times poll discussed in this thread. That poll has long been an outlier, but even it is down to a 2 point lead for Trump from a 7 point lead for Trump at one point. The poll has a week-long window so Clinton's convention bounce is not yet completely factored in. Given the trend, Clinton will likely be leading the poll within a couple of days.
