Creative Nicknames for Margaret

Mary Margaret, Mother of God--why can't you just use Margaret? It's a perfectly nice name; you don't need a "creative" nick name.

Our older DD also has a name that lends itself to sassy old-timey nicknames. Haven't thought about middle names yet, because while we'd really like to use Margaret as a first to honor a particular family member, if we can't get on the same page regarding what we'd actually call her, it will probably end up as a middle.

Like the Mae, Mimi, and Mugs (so cute!) suggestions! DH doesn't like "cutesy", i.e., Maisie, Daisy, or Maggie.

Now that I type it, I think what we're looking for is a sassy, old-timey nickname. Not super girly, and good for an adult, not just little girl. What do you think of Peggy? Too generational still?

Honestly, I think Daisy and Maggie fit this bill perfectly. But Peggy works, too. My issue would be that I don't like Peg at all and I wouldn't want Peggy to be shortened.

Margaret who goes by Peggy again. Name her Margaret and give her more options. Don't name her Peggy.

WTH does this even mean?

Why not pick a name to use daily that "flows" better with your last name and use Margaret as middle name. There are lots of "old timey" names--Ida, Cora, Hazel, Berenice, Betty, Thomasina, Debbie, Virginia, Dorothy, Ethel, Frances, Joanne, Irene, Mildred, Nanette, Sybil, Eugenia, Hennrietta...
