Freaked out about added sugar in everything and American standard diet

^^the last part wasn't aimed at OP specifically. I agree that food choices are important, and it's disturbing that most Americans lack basic info to be able to make the right choices.

The notion many people have that they need to keep their child as a tiny pure cherub subsisting only on the most innocuous organic foods is rubbish. Let them eat what you eat. Or the closest approximation of it you can find that's suitable for their teeth/digestive abilities.

Release your child of the burden of needing to be "pure" and unspoiled by sugar. He's a modern American. he needn't eat like an Amish farmboy.

That's the problem...modern Americans are nutrient deficient, obese, sick, sugar addicted, etc

Are you nutrient deficient and obese OP? Are you drinking Diet Coke while you write this? Or have you figured out things to eat for yourself? Can you feed those to the baby? Why does the baby have to be more pure than you? Are you raising the next Messiah?

This made me laugh.

OP, I get a lot of recipes out of "forks over knives." We aren't vegan by a long shot, but most of the recipes taste good, they are clean, and they are easy to make.

I would love to get an update from OP when her baby is a teen hanging out at the mall with friends. What is he eating? Is that her biggest concern?

I was this way after I had my first child too. You will calm down after a while. I have four now and although I do try hard to have them eat well, its more about establishing healthy habits. Like eating a family meal including vegetables every night.

Did you know the average American has somewhere between 6-8 "eating" times each day? The reason we are overweight is because we just have more access to food. Stop vilifying this and that, just try to establish healthy habits, like eating meals and not snacking non stop, eating freshly prepared foods made together as a family. Is ok to have pizza or mac and cheese sometimes.

As for pesticides, yes be knowledgeable but we do have a liver for a reason.

The Horizon milk at Barnes and Noble comes in chocolate or vanilla, both with sugar added. The only way to get plain milk is to ask for it in a cup, made by the barista.

Sounds complicated
