Being a millennial has zero to do with this. His entire platoon comprised millennials...Bowe's peer group. Were they whiny and self-centered when they were putting their lives on the line, dying in this worthless war? Save it. |

Unlike some pps, I'm finding this story fascinating. No, it doesn't have the murder mystery attraction of the first season but up until I listened to Serial Season 2, all I knew about Bowe Bergdahl were these very superficial cardboard cutouts type of explanations for his behavior. (not the most articulate way of putting it but I hope you get my point) Now I understand him a whole lot better and I understand better other situations where Westerners have been held hostage by extremists.
What's fascinating now is that so many Americans still think he was some kind of anti-war activist type when in reality he was a hardcore patriot with distorted thinking. |
I'm so tired of the generational wars. I agree, pp. Stop dumping on millennials! ~from a baby boomer mother of a millennial |

I'm still listening but still can't get into it. I remember with the first season literally being frustrated on the elevator at work because it would cut out and listening to it till the moment I sat down in my office. This most recent episode was basically all about Richard Holbrooke and the purpose behind the war in Afghanistan. Sorry, but that's not why I'm listening to Serial. Total flop.
I also believe Bowe is either mentally ill or autistic etc. So trying to figure out why a mentally ill person did what they did does not a series make. He's not a rational person and therefore his actions were not rational. Nothing more to figure out. |

i stuck with this but the ending, if that's what you wanna call it, was anti-climatic.
sounds to me that he obviously had no business being let back into any branch of the military after his coast guard mess. oh and he's an idiot. not nearly as satisfying as the first season |

Did anyone stop listening when it went bi-weekly? I just gave up and from some of these comments
I don't know if it makes sense to pick it up again. |
| I agree that the whole thing sucked. The guy is mentally ill. Why he did what he did is irrelevant - he is paranoid and delusional. and they didnt get access to that many high level people. lame. |
| Very anti-climatic. However, I did learn more about him. |
