All well and good. Don't bank on the fact that your kids haven't shoplifted. |
Nope. Someone else brought up the color issue, so I guess it's them. Sometimes I also forget that not every thread involves 2 people talking back and forth, so I forgive your assumptions. |
| Some kids are simply starving for some attention, and will do whatever it takes to get it. Their parents are too busy climbing that 'success' ladder. Think about it. |
| Use your phone and record them. |
Lol
|
Good idea. Even the police admit their behavior improves when they know they're being recorded. |
Mostly white kids, one black kid. |
That's not surprising. Do people really only think poor black/latino kids steal? Nope. I posted before about how the well off kids were shoplifting. These kids were white/asian. |
| I would definitely say something and/or call the police. Just because the clerks aren't doing anythiing about it doesn't make it right. This may be a classist thing in which the clerks don't feel that they have the right to complain about their customer's children. I've seen this play out in Latin America where the maids will tolerate rape by their employer's son to avoid losing their jobs. |
Oh, grow up. Stealing is wrong. What these kids probably need is a good belt spanking. |
| By doing nothing you are only exacerbating the problem. No doubt they will bring even more friends to that store because its "ok" to steal food from that store. "No one cares". Petty theft will turn into bigger crimes down the road. Stats show this. |
So reporting it to three employees of the store counts as "nothing?" Yeah, no, sorry. I just wanted my damn lunch. |
|
They could have walked from Sidwell lower school so let's not assume they are public school kids.
|
| I knew a kid from private school who lived in Bethesda who regularly went shoplifting. It was her way of rebelling. Yes, the rich really aren't that different, are they? |
Well, not if the employees in turn do nothing about it. You know darn well this is wrong and you aren't doing anything about it other than complaining on DCUM. At least name the store so that we can call the police about it since we are adults. |
