PP is right. Their body types have always been different. But why are we discussing this? Maria Sharapova ooops I mean op you should be practicing not writing troll posts about a person who has beaten you 11 billionty times. |
|
Wow, lots of piling on OP for being a racist. I've often wondered the same thing, and I watch a lot of tennis. Serena has always been much bigger and bulkier than Venus, and most (not all) of the other women in the WTA. That includes other AA women like Zina Garrison, Sloane Stephens, and Madison Keys, so I don't think it's automatic to say she's bigger just because she's black.
|
She's so much bigger and has so much more muscle than she did when she was younger that it is impossible to say anything else. The lady is clearly taking steroids. Nothing else causes those types of changes in body mass, especially in women. Any other opinion is wishful thinking. |
This is incredibly naive. Designer drugs and steroids are the name of the game for top athletes. They know what is tested and how it's tested. There are labs and doctors who have dedicated their entire careers to developing drugs and methods that don't show up on those tests. A clean drug test means nothing at that level. She has the money and they have the expertise to make sure her tests are clean. |
I have been following Serena since she was a child. Post the photos showing this huge change in her physique, please. I want to see them. Because the Serena I have been watching play for over 20 years now has always been muscular. She beat Andy Roddick when they were both adolescents. Even as a teenager, she was stocky with muscle and by her mid-20s, her body was exactly as it is right now. Are you saying that Richard Williams could afford designer steroids undetectable by any test over in Compton, California when Serena was a child? This is the second time I am calling out one of "Serena's body is drastically different" posters. Where are your photos? I'll wait. |
You can't be this stupid, can you? Are you really arguing that because other black women don't have musculature like hers, she must be on steroids? Other white women in the WTA are not as tall and broad-shouldered as Maria Sharapova. Is she also on steroids? I find it interesting that the steroids accusations are not levied at Federer. He is well into his 30s and still playing at a level that exceeds that of much younger men, and he has not had the injuries that plague much younger men like Nadal. Why no speculation that Federer may be taking steroids to improve his endurance and recovery? Venus Williams lives with Serena and was reared right alongside her. Yet, her career is all but over. How is it that she has not yet been clued into the steroids that Serena supposedly has access to? Or is it that Venus simply does not want to win and is happy to slide into oblivion? You people simply must start thinking with your heads and not your prejudices and envy. A black woman is ruling a white sport and has completely overshadowed everyone else. It hurts, I know. You thought tennis was the one sport you could have for yourselves. But it's going to be okay. You are strong enough to deal with this.

Well if all it took was money to make sure the tests were clean, Lance Armsteong would still be the cycling King. He is not. He tested positive a couple of times. The tennis association and fans do not like Serena. She does not fit their idea of a tennis hero. I mean, how many tennis players are booed in their own country and the crowd root for the foreigner (other team)? If Serena was doing drugs, they would have found the drugs by now. All,of you people are wishful thinking. BTW, if you worked out for six to eight hours a day with weights, cardio and yoga yeah you too can build muscles like that, especially if you have someone preparing all your meals. I did not have a third of,the time she has to workout and when I lifted, I developed beautiful muscles. But it is time consuming. My job did not depend on me being in perfect shape. |

Lance Armstrong was tested THOUSANDS OF TIMES, and the best they could do was to find trace amounts of steroids in 1999. Let me emphasize - they were only able to identify trace amounts; the levels were so low that it was deemed passing. I am not the previous poster, but I agree that people who do not think athletes dope are incredibly naive. |

No, I'm not saying she must be. I was responding to the PP who said something like "that's just what muscular black women look like", and I was pointing out that no, they don't all, especially in the realm of professional tennis. I think you're looking for racism, shame on you. Lance Armstrong was a dirty nasty cheat, like most cyclists, except he went further in that he destroyed lives to protect his reputation. Abhoring him as nothing to do with his gender or race. Believing that someone is using performance-enhancing drugs is not tied to opinions of them based on their race or skin color. |
Do you actually know much about tennis? Do you know the history of the above players that I mentioned? Have you seen the types of foreign substances that were tested and flagged that got these players suspended? You may think that designer drugs are not screened for, but after the Armstrong, Bonds, and other cases came out, the ATP, WTA and ITF did step up their drug testing programs to be more intensive. If she is really on steriods, did she continue to take them for most of a year from late 2010 to late 2011? She was out of tennis, not training regularly and was very out-of-shape when she returned. She had clearly gained weight and lost muscle during that time. When she recovered, she built muscle mass and toned up. But she hasn't gaine a significant amount of weight. Some that can be accounted for by dropping fat and adding muscle, but not on the scale that usually occurs on steriod use. I think you are mistaken and just a casual observer just following the news rags.- |
