That's fast food. Which you can get in many countries.

It isn't traditional American food.

It's an American invention. Tradition imply customs. The average American eats per year 23 lbs. of French fries and 24 lbs. of pizza and of ice cream. Americans drink 53 gallons of soda each year, averaging about one gallon each week. Americans eat 24 lbs. of artificial sweeteners each year. They eat 2.736 lbs. of sodium, which is 47 percent more than recommended.

I'm an American and I rarely drink soda and only occasionally eat french fries and pizza. Love me some ice cream though.

Ummmmm German food is fucking amazing! Seriously, i dont know what you're talking about OP. All the different sausages, the schnitzel.... it's like food heaven.

I would say the worst country for food that I've eaten in would be Switzerland.

Ghana Cafe just didn't have good food. There is delicious West African food out there, though. Peanut (groundnut) soup, this bean/rice dish called waakye (pronounced watch-ay), red-red, kelewele (fried plantains) and jollof rice with chicken are all delicious.

I think the problem is you.

I agree. Indian and ethiopian have a rich and delicious cuisine. They have no place on this list.

Southern African cuisine is pretty bad, in places like Malawi. Lots of bland cassava and cornmeal- based food...

Turkmen. Central Asian food is generally pretty awful (unless you adore mutton) but Turkmen is the worst of them. Mutton soup where the broth is rendered mutton fat. For dinner every single night. It was a long Peace Corps stint.

The plov is good, as a previous poster said. But its a once-a month treat, not a daily dish. And its usually got that god-awful mutton in it.

I've never really tried cuisine from Scandinavian countries. I've never seen any Scandinavian ethnic restaurants in SF, LA, or DC area.

IKEAs have one.

Local Caribbean cuisine is generally unappealing to me. Fish soup, stewed oxtail, okra, seamoss (seaweed drink), cassava prepared more ways than you can imagine.

NP here. Most of the food I ate in Guatemala was delicious. Loved the homemade tortillas served with every meal, ate a lot of delicious soups, and at one place I had some refried beans that were one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten in my life. Also, the coffee was incredible.

Totally agree. I also find it to be generally very bland.
