| We have a well-traveled crowd here, so please answer: which country has the worst food? I know England is traditionally perceived as having bad food, but you can get a nice roast beef and yorkshire pudding, fish and chips and mushy peas, and savory pies. Similarly German food is generally pretty bad, but with some nice pickled cabbage, sauerbraten, potato salads, and good breads. Where is the food unremittingly bad? |
| Are you five years old? What kind of answers are you expecting? |
| I have never been to a country where all of the food is bad. The worst meal I have ever had in my life was in France. |
| Canada. Mayonnaise on everything and poutine. It's the worst. |
Just returned from Nova Scotia and the food was great. Lots of fresh seafood, beautifully cooked. Agree about the poutine, though. We never laid eyes on it except on menus, and it was pretty hard to take even there. |

Scotland. How many Scottish restaurants do you see around here?

That's fast food. Which you can get in many countries. It isn't traditional American food. |
What a ridiculous question. I have had amazing food all over the world. Crappy good too. Good cooks can do wonders with adequate ingredients. Bad cooks can ruin wonderful ingredients. Give a good cook access to fresh good resources and you will eat well always. |
Unclench, PP. If you can't ever enjoy a Frappe (their version of a Frappucino, but better), or french fries, or a salad that isn't honestly all that bad, then you are a huge food snob. |
| The McDonald's / american poster is an idiot. McDonald's is everywhere. They have different food options in other countries, but they still serve fast food. This thread is going to be nasty and hate filled. A better question would have been "what country did you have the worst meal in and/or what country did you have the best meal in?". |

Their frappe is actually pretty good! Plus the yogurt parfait is good too! I'm sure it has plenty of sugar, but for an occasional treat, I really enjoy it. |
NP - exactly what is traditional american cuisine? |
