I live in an area where painted toenails are the norm. I still refuse to paint mine. Nail polish is toxic and bad for your nails. I have even had people tell me how pretty and clear my toenails look. For me natural is the only way to go.

I recently switched to not painting my toenails and it's been fine. They were slightly yellow but now they are back to a clear natural color. It took a few weeks.

I work outside a lot. My toenails are clean and trimmed but have too many waves in the nails from trauma. one is black from trapped blood where a horse stepped on it. I seriously can't imagine showing the world that trashfire. But if yours are less mangled, go for it.

If your nails are clean and trimmed, it's fine. I like toenail polish, but I wouldn't notice if someone wasn't wearing it, unless their toenails were all yellow or something.

As long as your toes are clean and your feet don't look crusty and dry. It's ok, doesn't need to be polished. I prefer polished, for myself.

I've never seen unpainted toenails that look nice. Sorry, but that's just my opinion.

It literally takes less than 10 minutes. Stop being lazy.

I've tried to paint them myself, but it never looks good. I never get the paint all the way to the edge, and it is often uneven. At a salon, 30 minutes minimum.

But I leave mine bare most of the time. As with others, I have a little fungus. You can not see it if I keep them clean, trimmed, and buffed. But I know I have it, and don't want to contaminate others by going to a salon.

I like a painted toenails only because it is easier to maintain them. I think seeing white (long) on the nails is gross and makes me wonder what's stuck under there, so I'd be trimming mine ultrashort all the time just to not see that. Polish covers it. I don't do wacky designs/colours though.

Grossest nails I've ever seen- French (ew ew, makes your toenails look like an animal) and one lady I saw with long (big toenail 2 inches no joke) orange painted- nails hanging over the front of the sandal. I wondered if they were fake. She walked fairly normally- a little duck-footed. DH was one 5 minute long shudder as we tried to hurry through checkout ahead of her. We could not stop staring.

I don't know if this is true - a little self righteous don't you think, but it's perfectly fine.
