That's hilarious. You're the Queen of DCUM? Employing the royal "we"?

You may assume whatever you like. In the meantime, have a graduate degree, a full time job, and three children under five (5 years old). Yet I can still punctuate, spell, and manage syntax.

Perhaps your low expectations are of the soft bigotry kind?

perhaps who cares this is the internet!! why would u waste time hitting "shift letter"....nobody does that except for old mommys and daddys...actually i dont no anybody who writes correctly on a blog

I can't imagine why your child didn't get into that school.

just to make it clear the only thing that does is make me dislike people who say stupid pointless crap out of there mouths...sike...sike no...keep imagining

Sike? Does it perhaps mean "psych"?

I can't tell whether to laugh or be horrified. The OP has become as oddly compelling as a zoo monkey flinging feces.

This thread sounds completely fake and engineered by someone who has a lot of free time. Maybe a bored young person (nanny) who is getting everyone wound up and getting good laugh.

Do we need another day of the racist stereotype this person is suggesting through everything she's saying? Please let it go.

Flash cards with an eight month old is, if true, rather sad.

This is the weirdest thread I have ever read on DCUM.

Assuming OP is legit, sign your DD up for preschool. She needs the socialization, and she will like it. She has a lot to learn in that area (as do all children). My DD is quite academically advanced as well, but she still comes home from pre-K excited about her friends, her growing athletic ability, her projects. It will be fine.

Thanks. I've decided to try to enroll DD in a regular public pre k in aacps. I guess I shouldnt care about what they are doing since its free.

Anonymous wrote:That's great that she can read and add, but it's really more of the norm these days. My daughter was reading chapter book by the time she turned five and doing 4-digit addition....but girlfriend is going to good, ole public school next year. The kids that are not where she is will catch up in no time and she can always work on her social skills. What you should also consider is how she will transition to a place where she will not be the center of attention. Can she take turns? Raise her hand? Listen to and accept other people's ideas?

If my daughter had problem doing these things I would have put that in my initial post. Also I would then not be as concerned about the school's academics since I knew she needed social skills. But this ain't the case! I just want to really know any school's that have a prek program that resembles a kindergarten program. I found one school that had a prek plus program----the children work along side the kindergartners in Arnold, Md. There must be more.

Have you looked into a Montessori program? The 4yr old and 5yr olds (kindergarteners) and even some 6 yr olds all work together. In the afternoons while the 3 yr olds nap (DC law) they do more elaborate group lessons and projects. The teacher focus on the individual child as oppose the only the age. They are trained to teach up to algebra (of course using hands on materials to introduce the concept...not exactly writing the equations).

I'm sorry -- the above really struck me as funny! There's a DC law saying three year olds must nap???

Someone tell my kid, please!

Right? I know....
but the law says that the facility must provide and napping environment for a certain amount of time in a certain square footage of space for children under 4 yrs.
