I'm sure she knows that. The point you've pointedly ignored is plenty of women like to date younger. Maybe 31-40 doesnt interest them, just as 40+ does not.

All things being equal, young is better than old, but men in their 30s and 40s are more likely to have a decent career going then men in their 20s.

Sure, but why would a guy making six figures in his late 20s marry a girl four years older instead of one four years younger? It's not like a good looking, high-earning 28 year old guy can't get an attractive woman between 24-27. Why would he pick a 32 year old, unless there's an issue we don't know about?

Maybe because the 32 year old has melanin in her skin and higher cheekbones thus making her look younger than her 27 yr old counterpart? Also, she's more ready to settle down if the man is looking to settle down.

I agree; I don't get why someone would feel sorry with someone a couple years younger. I actually assume that women dating men significantly older couldn't find anyone around their age and had to go to old dudes.

A woman with a handsome older man doesn't even need a "career"

But I don't want to stay at home, so this is a non-issue for me. I've tried dating being openminded and dating 8+ years older and was told that I wouldn't have to work or could choose to work PT. I would still prefer a younger man with a solid (but not great) income to father my children and grow old with.

We're not talking about a "10". We're talking about normal people. There really isn't much of a reason why a desirable man would marry a woman 4-5 years older. Why can't he get someone his age to a few years younger, like most men?

There's always a reason. I know guys who married older. Decent guys, but had issues that prevented them from attracting women their age.

Usher must be one of those guys having trouble attracting younger women. Oh wait...
