Birthday Cake doesn't match the theme?

That's how she is. She gets on me because I don't go all out with birthday decorations. Pinterest is the devil!

I'm doing a Little Gym party with Doc McStuffins theme. Medical equipment and tumbling mats. THE HORROR!

OP, there's five pages confirming your friend is nuts. Do what you want.

I don't think anybody will even notice. Over thinking and paranoid.

Dear NATO cake on springs poster. My life as an Ambassador's spouse would be vastly better if their were more people like you around. Such a good post....

I am DCUM Anonymous Poster and I'm a Pinterestholic ("Hi DCUM Anonymous Poster!") and she sounds like a tacky whacky whack job.

OH! Now I'll never be satisfied until I have a bouncing bounce house birthday cake!

Or there's always "Tigger" - he's bouncy!

Whatever would you friend think of me...we've had a Scooby Doo cake at a gymnastics studio, airplanes at a bouncy place, Spongebob at Laser tag, and even plain (unthemed!) cake/cupcakes at a trampoline place and at roller skaing!

No- you're friend is the problem. It's your kid's birthday, let her pick what she wants. Ignore the nutter.

This is hilarious. I wouldn't think twice about a ballerina cake at a bounce house. I think the birthday girl gets the final say!

She was happy and she is in 1st year of college now and still tells me it was her favorite birthday party and cake.

That's adorable! Especially love the BIG BLACK cat!

Your friend can pirouette her ass right down the inflatable slide. There's her ballerina party.

We have had several bouncy house parties with princess themed cakes, chosen by my daughters. I guess my kids did not get the memo. But I did attend a party where the birthday boy cried because his mom did not get the Batman napkins we wanted. Not kidding.

It's your child's party and you can do whatever the hell you want to.

And that should include kindly erasing her name from the guest list.

Does it bother your or does it just bother your friend? Many people have a lot of opinions. But if you want to make your child happy, you go with what she wants because it's easier to do that than to convince her about following the THEME.

I would have laughed and said "You're so funny!"

If she pressed the issue I would have rolled my eyes and said, "Jane, be serious. The kids are 4. No one cares about the theme" and changed the topic.
