Birthday Cake doesn't match the theme?

Because friends talk about things? What a weird comment to make. You're almost worse than that friend.

You know what is tacky? Caring about and commenting on the details of another child's birthday party.

I am DCUM Anonymous Poster and I'm a Pinterestholic ("Hi DCUM Anonymous Poster!") and she sounds like a tacky whacky whack job.

I'd bet a sizable sum there is no friend. OP probably wanted to ask the question about matching cakes without seeming like a nitwit, so created the imaginary straw man friend. Just a hunch

Tacky is trying to control someone else's party planning...

I've never seen a bounce house cake, lol. I'd be impressed if you could make one out of cupcakes and have it bounce. Ask her to Pinterest that up for you.

Has your friend never been to a bounce house party? There really isn't a "theme" to go with the bounce house so you can do whatever you want in the party room. WTH?

She told me that was tacky and that if I'm going to have a ballerina cake, I should have a ballerina themed party. I told her most parties I've been too at bounce houses have character cakes or they're plain she said plain is fine, other than that, it's just tacky. What do you guys think? Should a birthday cake go with the party theme?

Jumping around at a bounce place isn't a themed party anyway. Get the cake the birthday girl wants!!

She sounds like one of those Pinterest freaks. My DS' Bday was a combination of Minecraft, light sabers and donuts. That's what he wanted.

Ha! She takes this stuff very seriously! It is a kid's birthday party - no decor rules. Do what makes you and your kid happy.

OH! Now I'll never be satisfied until I have a bouncing bounce house birthday cake!

+1

i did a firetruck party for my son's 3rd birthday. Every decoration in the house was firetruck themed. Know what cake I had...lightening mcqueen/Cars. Who really give a sh*t what the theme of the cake is. As long at the birthday kid likes it that is all that matters.

Try putting the cake on springs. Ballerina is fine, as long as her tutu is primary colors, not pink. Obviously

OMG.

PP a while back - I have been to numerous State dinners and have not attended one where the cake (where there is one) matches the theme. But now I know what I should be complaining about. OP's 'friend' sounds like a total bitch.

Ok OP. I can't believe you are even asking this. Are you for real? Do you have your own brain or do you rely on others to make decisions for you. IT'S A KIDS PARTY FOR GODS SAKE! Get the cake your kids wants. Really, it's not hard. Why are you making it into something it doesn't need to be. Oh, and your friend is a JERK.
