This might be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Just like those blacks in the 60s should have been comfortable with their blackness and shut the fuck up about equal rights.

Black person here. What is dumb is you trying to make the two things equivalent. They are NOT. Your attitude trivializes the black experience and is offensive. Please stop. Try to make your argument on its own merits.

Oh stfu.

DP, you STFU. I agree, make your arguments on your own merits, but don't triviali the hardships and struggles Black people endured. Race is immutable. Sexual orientation is not, as evidenced how bisexuals can go back and forth. When a black person shows up for a job interview you immediate see their color. When a homosexual shows up for an interview, you don't know or care about their sexual orientation. Make your arguments without diminishing another groups struggles.

Go volunteer and clean up your shitty neighborhoods if you don't like the stigma and get over it already. Sick of black people constantly crying racism and prejudice yet their brothers are on the news and 48 Hours every single day killing themselves on a daily basis over drugs and stupidities.

Just wow. Your statement would be bout as ignorant as people who make statements that your people spread HIV and adopt children to molest them. So sick of gay people always crying homophobe when they are such shitty people always cruising for a quick lay in the Sears bathroom.

See?... It's a choice and a sin. Genetically it would be weeded out in one generation of no reproductive sex.

Nope. Women who have more children also have more gay children. It's somehow linked to high levels of fertility in women.

Also you are assuming that gay men and gay women don't have sex. The parts work. They have lots of kids that they make themselves.

You don't need sex to get pregnant, as a rather substantial number of DCUMers can attest.

Sure the majority now supports this "cause," but it's not like it's 1% of the population that agrees with my thinking. So I guess 45% of the US population is stupid and you guys are all brilliant.

That seems about right.

Many people like me are libertarian and don't believe government should make peoples choices for them. I still think acting on gay tempations is a sin just like every other sin. We all act on some. Its the acceptance and support of sin that leads to destruction. Jesus said "you are either for me or agains me" there is no middle ground.

I'm pretty sure He also said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Yet there you are, hurling rocks at gay kids.

You're an idiot

Ok I'm an idiot and even if being a homo is not a choice -- acting on it is a choice. So why MUST I support that choice?

Do you "act on" your own sexuality? Your previous posts indicate your have kids, so I'm assuming you have acted on your own sexual desire, no? Would you like to be told that you shouldn't or that something is wrong with you if you did? Aren't you into freedom? America is a free country and all that? Usually you religious nuts are spouting ignorant ideas about your entitlement to freedom, waving guns around, freedom from taxes, etc. etc. Why don't you apply some intelligence and get consistent with your ideals instead of advertising your especially ridiculous brand of hypocrisy? If your kid was gay, would you *really* rather they never experience sexual pleasure than "embarrass" you by being gay? Isn't their life their own? Or does it belong to you? Is that freedom? Why don't you try not acting on your sexuality or identity for the rest of your life.

Best post.

Not tolerating bigotry is exactly what leads to progress, fairness and social justice.

Are we clear now?

No, we are not clear.

Personally, I do not believe that gay marriage equals progress.

Doesn't really matter what you believe. People like you are on the way out. Make way for the new, tolerant, better world order.

You are being purposely obtuse. Your anger at the white man is severely misdirected and you know that, even if you won't admit it. It's time for the black community to look within. I mean, have you listen to rap music lately? What the black community is producing and selling to their youth? It's either violent or disgusting and I'm no pearl clutcher.

If you are talking to me, maybe I am and maybe I'm not. I wouldn't know. I don't go around discussing other people's sex lives with my friends. The topic of a persons sexual preference doesn't come up in conversation, so I wouldn't know. But I'll assume that none of my friends are bigots. What about those who lack tolerance for people that don't agree with their views though? You seem bigoted against the pp who doesn't agree with homosexuality.

I don't understand this. Do your friends' families never come up in the conversations you have with your friends? Your friends never talk about their wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend?

No.

Do you want to have sex with someone whom every time their eyes or closed or the lights are off is imagining you as the opposite gender? You want that for your children? Closeted gays do nothing positive for marriage society.

What the fuck are you talking about?

You are saying gays shouldn't act on their sexuality because they have a choice. Gayness does not go away. Back in the day it just married straight and lived a miserable existence - oh yeah society did that before. It hasn't worked and that's why it's called "progress". People like you are a dying breed.

Why should an adult who has fallen in love with another consenting adult NOT "act on" that love -- date, get married, engage in intimate activities, whatever? Why does gender matter? And why is denying a love that exists the preferred thing to do? I believe intimate activities between lovers should be private and discreet, so I don't particularly want to see or discuss that aspect of ANYONE's life, but I would be happy for any adults who have found mutual love and would want to see them have equal rights and protections under the law for their new family unit, should they wish to marry and create one, regardless of the genders involved. I think our world would be a far better place if there were a greater number of mature, stable, loving relationships and people, not fewer of them, but by saying "acting on gay love is an inappropriate choice" all it does is deny that. I can't think of a reason I consider decent and logical that would cause me to hold such a position.

There are many animals, mammals that are gay, that act gay. Do not have intercourse with the opposite sex and spend time with only the same sex. So in my opinion, it is a natural thing. Not as common as hetero but it does happen and can happen. I am not sure why we as humans just constantly judge and demean other humans that are not like us. I mean, really - WHO CARES??? Why does it bother you so much? The bible says "love thy neighbor" It does not say "only if they are a hetero christian." Some of the nicest people I have met are a different race, religion and sexual orientation as me. Why would I shut those people out? What is it saying about me?

At the same time, if there are people that hate me for my skin color, sexual orientation, religious beliefs etc.. then I don't care. I am never going to be a person that forces my beliefs on others. Life is too short to hate other people. It amazes that our country is still this hateful and angry.

Very sad thread. I would love to know how many of you would talk this in public.

We have plenty of things to talk about, are you dumb? Do you have hobbies? Do you have kids? Do you do ANYTHING a but concern yourself with everyone else's sex lives? Oh and spend time on DCUM judging people? Anything?

Nobody cares about the sex, you half wit! It's about people building their lives with someone. You just replied that you don't talk about each other's families!

None of your friends has a sibling or cousin or child who has built their life with someone of the same sex? None of your friends has been to a gay wedding?

You realize that approximately 1 in 10 people is gay, right?

More like 3 in 100.

Really? So your friends never say, "Oh, I saw a movie with my husband" or "my wife's looking to get a new car..."

I mean, really.
