Hopefully the disease in the US stops with these two nurses. I'm optimistic.

We don't know if they are sick yet. Any of them

Assuming no news is good news...

it seems theres been an abundance of information given surrounding the cases...why i make said assumption

I like your optimism, but this has been around long enough for us to understand that they are contagious once they show symptoms, not after it is really underway. Perhaps his family is immune, or perhaps they haven't hit the 21 day mark yet.

Two data points only. Means nothing.

Obama better do more than just have a meeting for show. He needs to change his protocol. US hospitals are not ready to handle Ebola.

If flights are restricted we will still have this. But we will have less with potential infections arriving in 1 day. The US Embassy in Liberia still has appointments for visas. What do those employees wear? Embassy personnel families were sent home in August.

I'm an Obama supporter and even I think this is a bit late, and by 'a bit', I mean very very late.

I am as well, and will continue to vote Dem regardless of how everything shakes out, but c'mon POTUS, what the heck is going on here? I just don't understand the incredibly flat-footed response from the Admin. If nothing else, from a PR perspective , they should have been doing some show of "rearranging the deck chairs" at least weeks earlier. (Note: I am not saying this is the extent of what the response should be, just that I think the malaise up top is unfathomable from every perspective.)

Now they have to figure out who the second nurse had contact with. There is no way they will be able to keep up with contact tracing.

The second Dallas nurse was on a plane the day before her symptoms started and was in Cleveland this past weekend.

Un-freaking-believable that after the first nurse was admitted (Friday) that they didn't "batten down the hatches" and restrict the travel of all those who had contact with Duncan. I doubt they have even now.

Texas Pres is going to be the root that causes a US outbreak. I expected to be hearing more cases pop up from people traveling in in other parts of the country from West Africa, but no - looks like it is going to be Americans that infect other Americans.

Whack a mole. We're such a travel dependent country. Hoping, but hard to see this working. Time for the pres to cowboy up.

I agree in part. But in the causation link, the infection started with a Liberian.

There is reason to believe that some people have an immunity. Not saying Duncan's girlfriend/family did have immunity, not sure how much time they have spent in Africa, but just something to keep in mind.

Obama told people of West Africa in a video message that "you can't get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus". How does he know that no sick people with Ebola are on any buses in Africa. I would think they would be pretty crowded with lots of sweating and Ebola can live on surfaces for a while.

I just don't understand how the CDC didn't tell the healthcare workers who had treated Duncan - who were self monitoring themselves! - that it *might not be a good time to get on a plane*?!?!
