Oh really. What did you ask him? "Do you think Ivy is a stripper name?"

I said, "What comes to mind when I say the name Ivy?"

Then he must have strippers on his mind a lot.

The DCUM prudes are at it again. If anything, Ivy is a grandma name not a stripper name.

Ivy is a lovely name OP and it doesn't conflict w/the last name at all.

Good luck.

P.S. Do not, I repeat..DO not name her Iva!!!!

I like it. Doesn't sound like a stripper name to me, and I agree it sounds pretty with the echoing V sound.

I remember that thread because it was so ridiculous. If anything, Ivy is hipster, not stripper. I like it a lot.

Agree with this.

There is small pocket of DCUM frumps who call name that isn't in their small list of the usual suspects a stripper name. They remind me of my southern grandmother. She was hilarious. If a woman or girl broke any of grandma's rules of etiquette she would point it out with a "only loose women, women of the night, fast women, street walker would do that" and other references to prostitutes and strippers.

As a child I grew up assuming that all prostitutes wore white after labor day, forgot to put their napkin on their lap, ate the garnish on the dinner plate, and sent their Thank You notes more than one week after receiving the gift. I was quite surprised to later find out what they actually were and did.
