MY idiotic post? Hmmm? Are you the OP? If so, you are the idiot.

Go back to the GIANT, sweety. Thankfully I will never have to come across you there.

ha ha, you are the prattling poster aren't you....

I disengage.

That doesn't make me an extraordinary person. It just means that I choose not to be a dick towards the people I share this planet with.

I think that's sweet in a way but honestly I wouldn't want someone touching my groceries like that...

I still don't understand why OP mentioned her mother being left in the car. It really has no relevance to the story. This make me think she feels entitled because for some reason her time is more important.

Still, I would've let her back in line and have done so many times.

+1

We need more people like you.

I truly believe most people choose to be kind. We just don't hear as much about kindness. I hope I am right about that.

Ok. I won't touch your groceries.

If you left your mom in a hot car that is dangerous. If you left your Yukon idling to keep her cool that is illegal and unethical. Also bottled water is unethical and for suckers.

All that said, if you were back before it was your turn to get checked out then the lady was a bitch and exemplifies all that sucks about DC.

I am sure she is putting the items directly from the cart onto the belt and not rubbing them across her genitals first. Do you have any idea how many hands have touched your gorceries before they made it into you cart?

Sorry - didn't mean to be rude but that was my first reaction to your post. It IS sweet of you to help out a fellow shopper but I, personally, wouldn't want someone else touching my groceries like that. I'm not sure why I feel that way. If that did happen to me I'm sure that I would thank the person though.

You could have told the cashier and she/he would have sent someone back to get it.

Otherwise one would hope the lady would be kind enough to let it go. However, unless your items were already on the belt, I don't blame her for pushing ahead. I agree with a PP, your time is no more valuable than hers.

Once I had my items on the belt, and stepped to the side to look at the cover of a magazine. My feet couldn't have been more than about 12" from the line of people. The person in front of me was still paying. The man behind me shoved my items back and put his down in front of mine. Words were exchanged, his argument being that I "got out of line." That was ridiculous.

That is DC for ya. He probably worked for the Dark Side: a military contractor or the NSA. Double dipping asshole.

+1. And did this really happen?

Don't be so obtuse. Does it occur to you that OP left the car running with the AC on? That's what most people do when leaving somebody in a car on a hot day. You're reaching.

This is illegal.

You are breaking the law when you do this. Do you pay taxes on your nanny and housekeeper?

I would worry about fecal matter if a stranger touched my groceries. I just had to throw away a zucchini bread my new neighbor made for me. I mean, how can I know for sure how it was handled!
