Yeah, ok. Weeds between bricks means the roots are not exposed and you have to get something that will get into the roots - so either pull them or soak them with a chemical that will work it's way down over several days and not wear off quickly like salt or vinegar. All things that will dissipate with the morning dew. Round up works but it takes a few days. Then you do another barrier protection to let it soak down and kill off some roots. It slows grow and it stays put in the roots of the weeds. Yes, after a few rains the surface effects of the product is lots. |
Boiling water works the best. It kill the plant roots, and seeds. Round up only works on the green parts of plants, so soaking does nothing. Read the directions. Pulling will damage your patio/walk way. |
Did you say " Die, you m*ther f**kers" while spraying the weeds? That is what I said while pouring wboiling water over them this morning and my weeds are a deathly shade of brown this afternoon. |
I didn't say that. Perhaps that was the problem?

Yep, that's it. You need to put a curse on them. It's called voodoo landscaping. It works wonders! |
| I sweep Preen into the cracks in March and again in May. Easier to prevent them than deal with them. |
The active ingredient in Preen is trifluralin, which is a pre-emergent herbicide. It's extremely toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates, so don't apply it anywhere near a body of water. https://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/syllabi/325/schedule/Pest%20Management/Chemical%20Application%20&%20Safety/Trifluralin%204%20EC.pdf |
| OP here. Yesterday I saw a wasp spending a lot of time in between the bricks and I sprayed the whole area with wasp killer. (I'm a little paranoid after several tried to make homes in our deck. I'm allergic.) Could this kill weeds? Just curious. FYI, I've used the voodoo curse on all bees and wasps in the area. |
