Oyster (one in middle school, one in early elementary). Absolutely amazing, plus they both speak Spanish remarkably well!

Ditto. I have two there and I almost want to have a third, just so s/he could go to SWS.

Maybe it's a good question to ask when researching schools, but reading all this post-lottery feels like salt in a wound.

+1 I live across the street from SWS. So good to know that the school my kid will never go to is so great!

Duke Ellington. We pay tuition for my niece to attend and she has an hour commute each way, once you build in the transfers. Worth every penny and every second of the commute.

+1 for Bridges! We would have stayed if the grade-expansion had started earlier.

As a first-timer to the lottery process, I'm confused. How do you get into a charter without lottery-ing? TIA!

PPs mean they are happy with the school they are at so hey did not even enter the lottery again to see where else they could get in. It's common to play the lottery even after you're at a school.

Understanding that every family operates on their schedule -
for whatever reasons - those of us on the MV waitlist would appreciate it if those who are still deciding would just get it over with, one way or another.

And I'll tell you why. This is no longer a search for the perfect school. It's a quest. It's a quest for fun. You're gonna have fun, and I'm gonna have fun... We're all gonna have so much fucking fun we're gonna need plastic surgery to remove our goddamn smiles! You'll be whistling 'Zip-A-Dee Doo-Dah' out of your assholes!

Re: this thread of conversation, and to quote a dynamo of upper crust culture (McDonalds): LOVIN' IT!!!
