What are Republicans so "scared" of?

The people called racists are the ones who make racist remarks.

Scared that we'll be branded racists if we happen to disagree with anything Obama does !

Not so fast, I think. It's easy to condemn those who voted for the war now, in hindsight. But at the time most of them were convinced by the administration (and their fall boy Powell) that it was warranted.

Just because somebody voted for the war does not disqualify them from politics under Obama, I think. I am glad that Obama is willing to work with those he may have had disagreements with, but may still have something worth while to offer.

"Even 1.5 years ago, the auto industry was fighting Congress tooth and nail about instituting 35 mph fuel efficiency in their cars 10 years from now! It's survival of the fittest and they are not fit and refuse to be fit. If an unhealthy person continues to lead an unhealthy lifestyle and refuses to modify the way they live, then let them do a quick exit to their grave."

Big oil was so interwined with the Bush administration that the auto makers felt comfortable pursing this path. No excuses that they were stupid but imagine that the admin was not so pro-oil and pushed more incentives that would have changed the automakers direction toward fuel efficient cars. I don't feel sorry for the automakers but I do feel sorry for the people who will lose thier jobs and the downstream affects on the economy their collapse will create.
