Where are you sending your high IQ child

I live in NW DC, and we're thinking of moving to the 'burbs because of the cost of DC private schools. Can anyone in MD or VA recommend their school/district? Should I even be worrying about this just because of a WPPSI score? Also, I wasn't given any IQ numbers by the tester - should I ask about that?

Thanks. I figure that schools will play a large role in determining where we move, but now I'm more concerned than before.

Might wish to ask on the general schools forum as this one is about private schools?

Anyway, I have no idea how you will want to evaluate schools but here is some data for montgomery county, at least, listing percentage of 2nd graders identified as Gifted at each elementary school. If I had a choice, I'd prefer to live in a zone for a school that had more chidren rather than fewer so identified, but not everyone cares about such things.

I live in Prince George's county myself, and the best elementary school magnet for gifted kids that I know of is Oakcrest Elementary in Landover. This are is a great place to live! The TAG program starts in 2nd grade.

I think Fairfax and Arlington schools in general are much better than Montgomery County. If I could afford it, I'd live there over Montgomery. Said as a former teacher for Fairfax.

Good luck!
