First of all, as a native Virginian, I have to say...YOU'RE IN VIRGINIA, OP!! What do you expect?! Virginians love their guns. Prince William County is not as transient as Fairfax or Loudoun, it is a county which still has a lot of long-time residents who have the old, southern, conservative values. Having said that, just because your neighbor has guns does not make them crazy, but you have to figure out if your neighbor is an old country person who will shoot first and ask questions later or if they are just someone who enjoys hunting and/or wants to have guns for protection. If you are in a suburban neighborhood, I wouldn't be worried, but if you live out among people who own acres of land and have family who has been there a long time, your best bet is to maintain a friendly relationship from them. And don't piss them off. |
Jeez, please read and please know your own country's policies and laws. The US is exceedingly LAX wrt things like requiring background checks, registering guns, permitting almost completely unregulated gun purchases and trading. We are insane. The Swiss think we are insane--that uptight little country would NEVER fall into the stupid (non)regulatory landscape we have created for ourselves (thanks in large part to the NRA, whose policies reflect the desires of the firearm industry, not the best interests of the American people). |
You are correct. Now let me go have this abortion real quick. Ill be back in a flash. |
WHERE does it say that because someone has guns they are crazy? The title SPECIFICALLY says "crazy neighbor" has "guns" - i.e.: separate. Are there that many stupid people who can't read and/or need to spin? How would you feel if first you found out your neighbor is crazy THEN you found out they have guns? |
Middle class existence is SO SCARY! Why you must crap your pants daily! Do yourself a favor and just eat your gun now. |
OP, I have a crazy neighbor. I am very polite to her, but I keep my distance. I don't know if she has a gun, but we're in liberal MD, so maybe there are fewer guns here than in conservative VA. If I found out she owned a gun, I wouldn't do anything different. I'd continue to be polite, and keep my distance. I imagine the likelihood of gun violence due to your neighbor is less than the likelihood of an automobile accident. Keep your eyes out, but don't loose sleep over it, OP. |
