Hasbro game -- gross

Oh gosh, Fox News is going to make another mountain out of a mole hill...let me guess...Mr. Drama himself - Brian Bolter will comment on the "horrors of finding a possibly used dice made with die manufactured in China and then, hark, assembled in the US"...I'll be sure to be glued to the tv.

When I buy something new, i expect it to be brand spankin' new, right down to the last die in the box, even if it's under a plastic bubble.

Why are you convinced that the dice for these games has been used? The ink (made in China) probably smeared before drying, or rolled out the box before drying giving the appearance of being "used".

So, OP, with all your "outrage" and "ew" comments - what did Hasbro say?...Did you call/email them or did you leave it to the mystery solvers of the DCUM community to give you an explanation?

I wasn't looking for an explanation. I think it's obvious they're using second hand dice to save money. And I don't have to call Hasbro simply because you seem to think that's so important. I was sharing my experience with other parents. Anyone else buy a game of Trouble lately? What did the die look like -- new, or dirty and obviously used?

This actually was really funny. I liked seeing "ew" every other post. But then, I like to be girly too, I guess.

Anyway, I think I actually WILL be buying a game of Trouble for the next birthday party (I think next week!) and I'm going to check out that die in the bubble. I'm a big one for statistics, so I say we need more data. OP had two seperate incidents with a dirty die. Coincidence? We will only find out if we buy more Trouble games and check...

Wait a minute. Maybe OP works for Hasbro...

I just read this entire thread this morning and I'm so disappointed - it's too early for popcorn! What great entertainment.

oh OP, i'm sorry you might feel like others are unfairly picking on you. i really am.

i agree with you that it's gross. but i also agree with others that this is sounding a lot like overkill.

Ok, OP, but YOU are not getting what people are telling you. How on earth do YOU know the dice are used? You do not know. Just because they look dirty does not mean it is obvious they are used. Made in China? How is it not possible or obvious the dye leaked, the machine malfunctioned or the workers hands were dirty? I mean, you dont know they are used.

Well, some people believe we live with a veil over our eyes and can never really see true reality because of it, but for the most part, we go about our daily lives trusting that what we see is real. I think anyone old enough to type on this board or read posts can recognzied used dice when they see them, myself included. It looks used; it's a good bet it's used.

I actually took the time to contact Hasbro on your behalf because you are such a tool OP. There is a known issue with leaky dye on a set of games from a certain lot. I could not give them the number on your game but they assured me they do not use "old, used, dirty dice". The dye did indeed not set and in turn gathered duct and grime on the trek from China. This does not affect ALL Trouble games, but if brought back, you will be given a new game.

Does a person good to call and find the root of the problem as opposed to bad mouthing a company an a hunch.

You've been belittling me for the last two days saying I must have nothing better to do than complain about dirty dice, and yet YOU called Hasbro about it and I'M a tool??? Hmm, interesting. If you did actually call Hasbro (as opposed to being their PR machine) then thanks for verifying what I was saying about the die. But how did you expect them to respond -- "Yes, we've been buying used dice from China for our board games"??? These dice don't look like ink leaked on them. They don't look like shiny, flat sided, bright white dice with ink leaked on them. They look worn in some places, dirty in others. They are used dice. (Maybe, just maybe, you are a bit of a tool yourself for believeing Hasbro on this one, if you did indeed call them.) Just in case you did actually take the time to call them, THANK YOU. But don't you realize there are way more important things in this world than dice in plastic bubbles, that you can't even TOUCH? (Sorry about the bad attitude, but I can't help it after all the $$hit you've piled me about this issue....)

OP -- you are winding us up, aren't you? You can't be for real!

If you ARE for real, take the game back to the store if it upset you so much... but for heaven's sake, don't get mad and keep posting and posting and posting on here just because no one else seems to share your outrage. You are acting like you found a used condom or a crack pipe.

OMG, It is HILARIOUS that this other poster called Hasbro!!! It made me laugh out loud. OP - you are a maniac. YOU are the one who has engaged in a 2 day long conversation about "dirty" dice. And you seem to think that it's just ONE poster who thinks you're crazy and has been posting as such. It's not. Check with Jeff if you want but I can assure you there are many different posters on this thread (like all of them but you) who think you are a loon.

And even when an actual answer has been provided to you, you are STILL HARPING ON IT!!! Fascinating.

When people use words like "ew" and "gross" they generally aren't trying to signify outrage. The words "ew" and "gross" are typically used for more trivial matters. So for those of you who are trying to enlighten me that the issue is not that big of a deal, I can only say to you -- duh. That said, ew, the dice are dirty and used. Gross.

The dice weren't that big of a deal. Being called superficial for posting about them to other parents on this forum -- worth checking up on as I sit at my office job.
