Mundo Verde - too new. I don't like startups. Plus, I don't like the "vibe" from this school.
Two Rivers - too far
LAMB - our kids are too old
Appletree - does not apply. our kids are too old
Bridges - does not apply. our kids are too old
Yu Ying - Don't like the "vibe" from this school. Plus, no interest in Mandarin.
Creative Minds - too new. I don't like startups.
Inspired Teaching - too new. I don't like startups.

Do you mind sharing how you get a vibe from these schools? How many functions does it take for you to attend at each school or classroom visits does it take to get a "vibe"?

NP. The poster may have gotten the same vibe from both schools because MV received a lot of start-up help and support from YY. So perhaps the two schools share a lot of similarities, but a different language.

I guess that could be true. But wouldn't one have to spend a lot of time at one or either location to really form a vibe?

A vibe is just a gut reaction. That doesn't take long.

Personally, I've found that my gut reaction to my DC's school I formed at the open house before the school opened has pretty much panned out. Of course, I don't know if the vibe I got from the schools we turned down was right because we didn't end up there, but I trust my instincts.

I guess that could be true. But wouldn't one have to spend a lot of time at one or either location to really form a vibe?

It all depends on the person "getting the vibe", the school, and sometimes even just on the dynamics that particular day. I have only been to one event at Mundo Verde (an open house) and I got a spectacular vibe from it. I am very comfortable saying I thought the school seemed great, but given how tiny the chances are I'll get into any of the schools on this list via the lottery, I'm also find with not worrying about it until I know what my choices are... should I be lucky enough to have a choice! But if I do, that's when I'll really worry about "vibes".
