How much $ do you make if you send more than 1 kid to private?

Three kids in Catholic schools on $63k Adjusted Gross Income. Archdiocese of Washington provides $2k financial aid for parochial primary school for two DCs, the Catholic high school provides $7k in aid for the third. Total tuition outlay about $9k/year. We get by (barely).

225 K. Feels like a stretch for one. Not sure we will do it.

$240K -- its TIGHT, but we make it work. No new cars (we keep our paid for cars in great working condition and they are not fancy to begin with), we live in a SMALL house in Silver Spring, our vacations are very, very simple. We just dont live a lavish lifestyle. Plus, our bills/overhead is not tremendous (no student loans anymore, thank goodness).

Thanks. Though I did great at excellent schools, should have picked a different field.

Which field did you pick? If you're happy in it, that's worth almost more than
anything.

Publishing. Do love the work and the flexible schedule (working from home, only while the kids are at school).

$450-$500k with 3 in private though only one in $38k+ school. Other two are in pre school though will be joining the ranks in next year and the year after. We manage just fine and manage to save and have international vacations. Expensive house but paid half down so mortgage reasonable. Non-lavish lifestyle though - husband dresses like a tramp but then he relishes wearing the same clothes for years on end. We buy our cars for cash so no debt and we keep them for 10 years.

We make the same, and we feel financially fine. We max out our 401ks, have close to $100K for college, have a year of safety net, and manage to shop at WF without stressing. I wonder what do people do with their money??? Our take home is over $10k monthly, and we spend 3k for tuition, 3k for mortgage PITI, leaving 4K for food and other goods. We don't have family money, either.

If you are only paying $3K a month in tuition, then you aren't sending 2+ kids to private school without FA. Parochial school doesn't count.

+1. Our private for two is double that. We'd be feeling financially fine if we *only* had to pay $3k/month. Instead, we pay more for school than our mortgage. And we're okay with that, it's a choice we made.

I am honestly fascinated with this post. We are under just $200 and have 1 in private, the other in a cheap preschool and it is tight. I work PT now but will go FT once my youngest is in K. We did public until 5th grade and saved a lot. Will do same but to 3rd grade for 2nd. We live a basic colonial in a great neighborhood. I have a minivan, DH has a Jeep Grand Cherokee he is running into the ground. No debt besides mortgage. Buy everything and pay bills on Amex, pay off monthly and use points for vacations. No designer clothes, bags or shoes. I guess we could be considered the poor family at our 30K school but appearances are not always what they seem. Everyone has been great with my daughter and myself. There seems to be a lot of families like us, not to mention FA families. There are some crazy wealthy families that are so nice to us. I help out at the school and volunteer as much as possible. We are happy and content.
