Have you had work done (plastic surgery)?

Why is a 23 year-old on this site anyway? Shouldn't she be out doing things that 23 year-olds do?

This hasn't been my experience at all. I'm the PP who had the fleur-de-lis abdominoplasty. My weight has fluctuated up and down (and all around) by 25 pounds since then, and my stomach has remained flat and I've never experienced any pain (after the recovery, that is).

Tell me more. My neck/chin has been a problem my whole life, even when I am thin. How did it work? What was the recovery? Cost?

I love my doc -- Dr Forman in N Bethesda. Double chin gone, gone, gone! It helps to have elastic skin (which he evaluates). A couple of days. Then a few weeks of small discomfort. about $2300. I had some other stuff done at the time, too. Injectables. I look pretty good! 100% pleased.

Thanks! Will look into it. It sounds like a really small price to pay to fix something that's bugged me for years and can't be changed through diet/exercise.

Thanks! This is me too, great info. Its SO hard to hate pics of yourself because when you smile you face just smooshes out under your jaw and neck is all thick- even when I am at my most fit, I have some photos where if I take it at the wrong angle or smile "wrong" my face looks like someone who weighs 300 pounds. Not joiking! So worth it.

Did it make you look younger? With the tighter neck and jawline?

Yes, it certainly did. I had all this flab around my face/neck. It added 10 years at least. DH said 15! (He is nice, actually and encouraged me. I was very scared.) Now I think . why so scared?

Because she's a troll. It's too ridiculous to be a real person.

I'm 36 yo. I've had belly lipo, breast lift and reduction, inner and outer thigh lipo.

When I'm done having children, I'm going to have another lift/reduction and a tummy tuck and some lipo under my chin. I'm skinny but have a double chin that I hate.

I don't see what the big deal is. I look and feel better. I had the means to do it, it made me look and feel better, so why not.

Over the years my teeth have migrated from their original post-braces straightness so I'm going to get invisalign. I don't see it any differently than lipo or tummy tuck.

I'd never consider plastic surgery for the sake of augmenting my natural self. No, I don't consider myself this super gorgeous model type. Hek, I think it'd be neat to have slightly larger breasts (like my lil sis) and a flatter tummy (but hey, i can work on that via good ol' fashion diet and exercise). Nevertheless, I'm confident in my appearance, and I consider my natural self to be beautiful.

Then again, I also have this pride complex where I'd see it as "cheating" or something to simply change the way I was born. Hell, I don't even use make-up (the biggest reasons being the pride thing and I really don't care for it). Shit, if you don't like the way I look, that's your problem... I'm not spending my life trying to please others.

At any rate, I'd never consider it for myself, and I hate the idea of people doing it for purely vain and vacuous reasons (medical, fine... self esteem, eh, I guess if you're not all that confident with a healthy degree of self pride, haha, like me). But hell, to each his own. Your money, your time, your life, whatever.

Come back in 10 years, sweetie!

I'm saving up for when I'm done having kids - breast lift/reduction and tummy tuck all the way.

Can you tell me more about your experience with inner/outer thigh lipo? I'm at a healthy weight and exercise but my saddle bags actually have me in a full size bigger than I'd be without them. They're the bane of my existence. How much does this kind of lipo cost and what's the recovery like?

Thank you!

I plan to get my undereye bags removed in 2015. Would love a breast lift but I've also heard it doesn't help much. I dont want bigger boobs either.

Breast lifts do work/ depends on who does them. I hear with implants, the look is nicer. You don't have to go bigger, can just fill you out.

I'm so close to getting my lower eyes done as well. I'm only 34, but I was born with puffy lower eyes. It ages me so much.

I'm getting implants next month and am considering tacking my eyes on, but I'm way more scared to do my eyes than my boobs. The doctor said the recovery from the eyes is a good 2 weeks vs. I can be back at work in 4 days with the boobs. I think I'm going to chicken out for the eyes and maybe get them done for my 40th.

My bags are genetic and I've had em since childhood too. DD inherited them as well. I'll be 32 in 2015. There'a part of me that says wait until I know I'm done having children before having the surgery, because of the sleep deprivation initially. I chose 2015 because I won't be working that summer and can recuperate while on leave. I am definitely waiting until about 37 or so to do my breasts.

I am going to call for a lipo consult this week. Abs. Done with kids and ready to take care of it.

I have three college tuitions to pay for and saving for retirement. Just not sure I can justify any of it. How much is stomach lipo.? Also, if I lost 10 lbs it would probably really help (5'4, 127)
