Well, they may be thinking that it would be easier for the parents if the teacher came to their home as opposed to insisting the parent comes to the school. Not everyone is comfortable meeting in a school. There are plenty of parents in DC who never come to PTA meetings or teacher-parent meetings. |
Thanks for calling me a selfish idiot. I did my research, read the studies, opened the actual vaccine inserts, asked the important questions, discussed at length with my pediatrician and opted out of putting all those toxins in my kids' bodies. But then I have to THANK YOU, for putting all that crap in your kids and mutating all these diseases. Because that makes so much sense. I hope you also updated all YOUR immunizations as you are doing a disservice to your own kid if you didn't. |
| I think that it makes you uncomfortable, then don't do it and if they still want a meeting, ask for a school or neutral place. |
Not the PP you're bickering with, but you seem to be suggesting with this quote that vaccinations do more harm than good. Is that correct? |
| you are a selfish idiot, which is confirmed by you thanking those of us who do vaccinate for the greater good for making it easy for you to decide not too (we all do it so your little snowflake probably has little chance of getting the dreaded diseases). again, what would happen if everyone decided to do this??? selfish. idiot. |

Ok geniuses. You can "opt out" of having a home visit by not attending a public school for preschool and pre-k. The funds used for those programs are largely head start funds, that are intended for low-income folks. Head start programs require a home visit.
As for "opting out" of vaccines because you think they mutate viruses, you really need to have your head examined or read a basic biology textbook. |
Not pp, but YOU'RE WELCOME and yes MY shots are current because I've worked with kids and I have my own. Do the teachers know about your opt out? If they do, they might not be so keen on a home visit. Just out of curiosity, did you easily opt out at a charter or DCPS? |
| On behalf of my grandparents, I apologize to the non-vaccinating PP for having mutated smallpox out of existence, and mutated polio to negligible levels in the US. Also, for having mutated the under 5 mortality rates to a single digit fraction of what they were before all those toxins started interfering. You're right, things were so much better in the world of children's health in 1920. All downhill from there, wasn't it. |
Yu Ying. Of course, these visits are NOT for checking our DC resident status but rather to see the students in a comfortable and familiar setting. This is meant to understand how to reach out more efficiently to the students who need help. If people are wondering why Yu Ying is loved by so many parents (despite the insults exchanged on DCUM), look no further than this sort of offers from the staff. They are truly dedicated... |
Amen!! |
Merde, this thread has mutated into a vaccine flame-fest AND has managed to get Yu Ying mentioned... PP "OK geniuses" poster--this home visit is for ALL ELEMENTARY GRADES at this school, NOT just pre-K. And not everyone can afford private school, yet they STILL DON'T QUALIFY for head start. |
+1,000,000 |
| That's such a nice touch, and they get to check for fake adresses for MD parents... |
YY started this this yr for all SN kids with IEPs in all grades not just preK. The child's SN team visits the kid at home and plays with them to help the child feel comfortable. It was great and my child loved it. |
