For those of you who paint your toddlers nails, here is an interesting view! Yes, many people do..

So you just make your decision in a bubble and expect no one to have an opinion on it? Or do you just not care about other people's perception that you are rubbing this child of their youth, teaching the wrong values etc? If that is the case, then I say you are more than welcome not to care. There are certain things that I do with my child that people have opinions on (they shouldn't take classes at sucha young age, shouldn't be in daycare, I should stay home etc etc etc etc). Do I care? No. So if you are so right, don't worry about it. But if you think you are going to change people's opinion with your anger, you are wrong. And you still seem too defensive. I think a nerve was struck. Go have a tea. It will make you feel better.

patroniizing bitch[/quote]

hahaha! Learn how to spell!! And again, it is not just me. You were arguing with someone else earlier. Go have yourself a long island ice tea , then. I really think you need it.

What you need is the understanding that your way is not necessarily the right way. Right for you, maybe, but it's not up to you to tell other people how to raise their children. Parenting is an art, not a science. It's time you sanctimommies get that through your thick skulls. Perhaps that drink would be best indulged by you, as it might dislodge that halo that's clouding your vision and rendering you unable to realize that there's more than one way to raise a child. But then again, I'm sure you don't drink, since that would be wrong. Very wrong. And you would be teaching your child something terrible.

Your reply makes no sense. I am just telling you what people think. Look back on what I wrote. What do you want me to do? BEcause you don't agree you don't want me to undo what is in people's minds. If you considered that or didn't considered it, and still think you are doing what is right for your child, why argue about it?

Why wouldn't I drink? I am an adult and I do adult things, including wear make-up!!!!!!!

you can't argue with the feminazi man haters. If it was up to them no one would wear makeup, we would all be 200 pounds, have short hair, thin rimmed glasses and look like bull dykes

Ah, ok, so that's who these bitches are! I hadn't thought about the feminazi crowd. Makes complete sense now. And I had a good laugh at your descrption, too. Thanks for the chuckle!

You are so eloquent and demonstrate so much class. NOT!!!! You're just tacky. So it's not okay for people to disagree with you but it is okay for you to call anyone that disagrees with you a bitch??? You seem like a real superstar.

I think you mistake me for someone else. I've merely been watching the blow by blow until now. The original statement I quoted was too good to pass up, though! It really is funny how crazy people get over the dumbest shit.

Ah, okay. Although, run by me again, why it's okay to use the bitch word? I was "one" of the people arguing with crazy McCrazy and that description does not match me in the least ( manhater/unattractive/200 pounds etc). I just think there is a time and place for everything that's all.

You just called me tacky and a superstar (and not in a nice way). That's somehow better than refering to crazy bitches? You meant to be hurtful, so it's not.

It's not cursing so yes, it is...it's a mere middling level insult that would be acceptable in an argument before it gets over the top into "crazy". You can handle it.

And yes, cursing is tacky. But I do it all the time. It's still tacky though.

first time poster on this thread, and i haven't read the entirety of it, so excuse me if i'm repeating anything, but...

i am disturbed by the trend in recent years of letting preschoolers prance around in makeup and heels (yes, i consider anything with a lift a heel). at the risk of being flamed, it just seems a bit trashy, and a bit too grown up. i say let kids look like kids, and not miniature women. i have a problem with most girls clothes these days too. why is gap so full of adult trends (animal prints, fake fur, sparkles, etc.)? i opt to dress my kids in clothes that look like kids clothes (olive juice, mini boden, janie and jack) rather than miniature versions of diane von furstenberg animal print wrap dresses. and i am no birkenstock wearing au natural tree hugger either -- i wear makeup every day (although never did before i was in high school) and live for my jimmy choo platforms. and i let my daughter play in my closet and attempt to walk around in my bejeweled shoes while carrying my patent leather clutches. but that doesn't mean she gets to leave the house looking like she belongs in toddlers and tiaras.

i feel less strongly about nails, but it does bug me to see little girls getting mani/pedis at the salon. it just seems a grown up activity that they dont need to partake in so early. i feel less disturbed by having their nails painted at a fair or something -- seems less like an adult activity and more like getting their face painted. I let my daughter do this once, and she enjoyed it for the day, and then we removed the nail polish that night. I didn't want her to think that having nail polish on her nails was anything different from a temporary novelty like face painting or a temporary cartoon tattoo on her hand.

i don't impose my beliefs on other people, but i can't help but slightly judge the moms of young girls wearing makeup and heels who i otherwise don't know. that said, i do have a couple of friends that let their kids do this, and i don't hold it against them.

Well said.

My 3.5-year-old occasionally asks for me to polish her nails, so I bought a polish with just a little bit of color. She doesn't bite or chew on her fingers, so I didn't worry about buying the nontoxic stuff. she also has a bonnie bell flavored lipsmackers lip balm so she can be like me. I don't wear much makeup otherwise; she's never asked to wear more than that.
