What are you 25 and single? If yes, then, sure Mclean sucks. Even if you are a married couple of advanced age without kids I would agree. I don't know what type of lifestyle you live now and how many nannies you have, so that you can enjoy the nightlife and the restaurant scene of a city. Mclean is a suburb, and that's that. How many exciting suburbs do you know? People go live there to raise families and to have amenities that are relevant to their kids, not to 20 somethings looking to party, or bored empty nesters. As far as traffic is concerned, the reason why the housing is expensive there is because of the central location close to many employment centers and the city. My drive to work is 10 min and if I want to visit family in DC it's about 15-20 min drive. Since the density of housing around GW parkway is pretty low, we don't get much traffic going this way on the weekends or outside of rush hour. From my experience, there is way more traffic around Silver Spring and Tysons than it is around chain bridge road and GW pkwy and you don't have to take the Key bridge if you don't want to. |
I'm not the PP, Einstein, so I wasn't the one "defending McLean". In fact, I was a new poster and that was my first post in this thread, but nice try anyway. |
| Good God, don't you folks ever tire of the same ridiculous argument? OK, some people want to live in DC for whatever reason and some want to live in the suburbs for whatever reason. They both have pros and cons. Are you all that insecure that you need to convince people that your choice is the only one? |
