We generally eat around 6:30 if there are no conflicts with meetings, sports or extracurriculars. That's pretty a reasonable time. My children start looking for food around 6, so to eat any later is no good. Also, I am still trying to get them in bed by 8ish.
As they age, dinner time will be 7 and bed time will be at 9 if all homework is completed. Most meals we all eat together in the dining room. That ritual is very important to us. |

I still can't believe that one kid eats a peanut butter sandwich every night for dinner. Where's the variety of foods? It's not a healthy diet. Not to mention eating your dinner in a carseat. How does the child learn manners or the art of dinner conversation?
Sad. Really sad. |

I have to agree, but we don't know her situation. And before people jump all over me with "well if they didn't have enough money they shouldn't have had a kid" there are many situations where people have taken whatever job they're offered after losing a "good" one or had unexpected financial problems. I still feel bad for the kid eating dinner in the car every night and probably thinking it's normal. |
