Obama and Gay Marriage

It will certainly help the wedding industry!

Here's one of those moments of cognitive dissonance:
1. Gay marriage is bad because it sets a bad model for kids.
2. Marriage is for procreation.

So apparently the preferred model for kids is: Get out there and fuck like bunnies!

Did anyone ask you your intentions in reproducing when you applied for and were issued a marriage license? Have you ever heard of a married couple who has had their marriage invalidated due to not procreating? Did they ask if you intended to create a stable enironment?

Please sit yourself all the way down. Marriage is no longer the only means by which people can and do procreate, nor is procreation even a considerate by the state in issuing or denying marriage licenses. Is the birth rate rapidly declining, suggesting the government should even be concerned about the ability of its citizens to create offspring? Even if it were, thank goodness medicine has advanced and offers alternatives to infertile couples, single women, and gay and lesbians couples who wish to have biological children.

Well it's a good thing Mitt Romney cares about these groups of people...

I'm astonished that people are really dense enough to think that Obama will lose the black vote to mitt romeny, or any other republican. You really believe the first BLACK president will lose to an elitist, out of touch republican? A serious reality check is needed.

There is little Obama or the democratic party could do in the near future that would cause an exodus of the black vote to the republican or independent parties. Wishful thinking

This ail cost obama votes, sounds like the next set of polls will extend romneys lead. The people for gay marriage were going to vote for obama regardless but the ones voted for obama and are against it might switch votes.

Oh, wouldn't I love to get a hit of what you are smoking. Must be strong stuff.

Obama hates Christians and eats Dogs,....Oh....and the economy sucks and is unraveling into something that resembles the pile of excrement and vomit left behind by a OWS protest.

G'morning panty sniffer! Did you receive that fresh package of japanese school girl undies in the mail yesterday? You sound especially invigorated. Or have you now, judging from the above, moved on to bukkake?

So, Obama plays the "I'm for it, but it's up for the states to decide" card. Cute.

Feds have a lot of jurisidication over marriage. Maybe he should put his money where his mouth is and propose allowing the IRS to accept joint tax returns filed by gay couples and to allow gays to name their spouses as beneficiaries for Social Security benefit purposes.

the issue is not whether they vote Romney, the issue is whether they stay home on election day

so the right is painting obama's support of gay marriage as a flip flop which is laughable.

supporting gay marriage actually comes with more risks than benefits so this so called flip flop isnt all that beneficial to him. second, the fact that someone cant have a change of heart on an issue after some second thoughts is what is wrong with politics. having a change of heart is not the same as pandering especially on an issue like gay marriage. states have rejected it and the country is almost split on their support for it. obama isnt gaining anything from this and actually "pissing" some people off right now. they will of course get over it but this by no means is some big advantage for obama.

Black people aren't going to stay home for the first Black president in our history. Don't kid yourself.

The political message will be if you were going to vote for Obama and you are Christian or Muslim . Don't vote...it's not worth putting your eternal life in jepardy.

No, it's not. An assault on christianity would be, outlawing christian marriages, or saying christian churches must marry gay people if they don't want to, or saying christians must get gay married.

As long as christian individuals and churches are free to do what they want about marriage, there is no war.
