+1 i have a 10 year old NF that I keep telling myself to retire, but every winter it comes back out and looks just as good as it did when we bought it. I also had a zipper repaired when the coat was already ~5 years old.

I feel like this always comes up on this board! A mid-length down coat is worth it if you are always cold, in my opinion, but it doesn't have to be North Face.
