This. ^^^

instability + message board = crazy rant + hilarity

You have been given several other reasonable options in this thread. Personally, I might look for a neighbor who would walk them to school for ~$100 a month. I have the impression there are a lot of SAHMs in Janney area (could be wrong) and someone might be interested. Perhaps advertise in the weekly school newsletter? Or on the list serve?

Good luck.

Thanks--but I need to do it for 2 kids. So double. But I'll take it under advisement.

Same here. I just wish we could remove the title of this post -- poor Principal -- OP's instability has nothing to do with her!!

So you didn't seek out this info yourself before going COMPLETELY NUTS on a message board?!? Really!?!?!

Oh. But I beg to differ. I am posting pics of the hobo, admitting I'm over-stressed, posting in color. My irony meter is strong, actually. I think it's the sanctimonious ones on here who lack a sense of humor. I am feeling very hassled as a parent here--people are cluelessly saying yeah, pay whatever amount of money. And shame on you for having 3 kids because, you lose, etc. Jeez.

Yeah, really. I did seek it out. And if you could direct your attention back I said that the cost for Morning care for 2 kids is high. $1200. Really???!

OK. I guess you could choose to pay it in parking tix instead. Good call.

Truth is that there is plenty of parking on surrounding streets... but you might have to leave a little earlier and walk a bit - *GASP*!!

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen the word "RANT" in a post title used this accurately. Yikes.

Thank to those who offered a reasonable alternative--pay $800 for 1 semester (3 months) to drop off the 2 kids age 10 and 11 for 15 minutes early so I can race across town to my older kid's school and then race over to work. And yes having three kids--I should be penalized this way. Everyone should have one child and walk to school everyday or suffer the consequences. That is reasonable. Thank you.

Actually - the reasonable alternative is have your kids walk for 15 minutes. Problem solved. And they won't end up obese.

Haha. You have no knowledge of how far away I live or my kids level of activity--they are not remotely obese. The grand assumptions that responders are making to this post are incredibly elitist. Carry on. I know you all feel quite superior to everyone in your lives probably because you waddle up that hill every day in your capri pants having teaching moments with your special snowflakes all along the way. You are insufferable and sanctimonious.

Because it makes no difference where you live. Drop them where they can walk for 15 minutes so they get to school on time and you don't have to park.

It really can't be that difficult to make this work. Just need some rational thought here. Get your older kid to catch the bus. Change schools. Jeez .... But don't expect the world to change for you.

Dropping them 15 minutes away is not going to work for us. Actually it does matter what I think. The world does change for me. When my voice is combined with others voices the world does change. This is how change happens, actually. The few comfy posters on this board may not see a need for change but I do. That matters. But I see my opinion has no support here. That does not mean it is not valid.

Drop your daily Starbucks and pack coffee in a thermos, and you will have your monthly fee for one kid.

From your posts it sounds like you would be the parent to sue if your unsupervised child was injured or worse, as a result of being on the playground before school. Poor principal.

Poor you, going around assuming crazy judgy things about people you don't know and feeling so self-important.

Can you drop them somewhere that they can walk with an adult who is already walking that distance? I'm assuming you don't want them to walk the streets on their own. And what about the older kid getting to school themselves? You're leaving out a lot of information here.

And no, I don't think your opinion that security guards should just add taking care of your buttercups to their job just because you want them to matters.

Why won't dropping them off 15 minutes away work?

No, $610. Learn to read. The poster already factored it for 2 kids (which is why for 3 months she is multiplying by 6 and not 3).

Well. Some of you were trying to help. Now every one is just being mean. I'm OP. You guys are mostly just mean jerks. Goodbye.

This whole thread seems like a message board version of a Saturday Night Live skit!

Troll, and/or aspiring comedic writer??
