Anyone going to the Inspired Teaching lottery tomorrow night?

If the school receives headstart money then the numbers are 16 and 18. Does the Hill schools receive headstart funding?

They ended up with a set of classrooms that had 50 preK (english/ chinese alternate days), a set of Prek/K classes with ~15 prek/~35 K, and a set of K/1 classes with ~10 K/ ~25 1st. Total school population of ~135 instead of the 150. One thing Inspired will need to look at if they don't get enough applicants in the upper grades is filling the slots with younger kids, and somehow adjusting the classes around the kids they get. First year charters need the funds.

How many of those ~65 PK'ers are still at YY today? (In 1st now, right?)

The current 1st grade class of 50 had ~4 new students this year and ~4 new students in the K year. I'm less clear about how many of the students who started in the Prek/K (now 1st graders in the 1/2), are still in the school, just because they are not ided as such on a class list. I know of one who went back to home JKLM school (older sibling was there, younger sibling elsewhere, family logistics with 3 kids 3 schools got too complex) . . .

so of the 65, I'd guess that ~10 have left, 55 still in the school. at least 4 of the departures have been moves out of the DC area.

We're in if we can get slots (current on the waiting list, but pretty close to the top).

I was there as well. Even though I'm still slightly hesitant with it being a new school, I feel like it would be a good fit for my daughter. Even though the plans aren't as concrete as I would like them to be, it seems like they chose a wonderful principal to spearhead it all.
