Thanks. Yu ying parents have been very helpful and nice. Wish my kids had gotten in.

Yu YIng is moving 2011/2012. They currently share the renovated building with Potomac Light House. NOW (2011/2012), Teacher's and Potomac will share the building. Originally Potomac was to take over the entire building BUT, they have decided not to move into the upper grades as quickly as they origianlly thought they would..so, now they don't need the basement of the building right now...which opens up the space for Teacher's. |

We got accepted to Inspired for PS3. Would love to hear thoughts from others who were accepted--planning to go to the open house they are having on Sunday for accepted families. We only heard about the school toward the end of our application process. I've seen their website. Anyone else accepted? Or any thoughts on the school's philosophy?
Thanks. |
| how did you hear that you were accepted? |
| I was not accepted and was put on the waitlist. The principal emailed me. |
| 12:17 here, we got an email as well. |
| We got accepted as well and we are going to the open house this Sunday. |
| how can you determine what # on the WL you are? |
| I called this morning to get my results, they said the principal would reach out to everyone today. I haven't received a call or email yet :-/ |

My kid was accepted for PS 3. Got an email in the middle of the night. They're pretty quick on it! I don't think we can make the open house for accepted students on Sunday but instead will go to the one on Wednesday evening.
I think it looks pretty interesting. And heck, we haven't gotten in anyplace else yet. Good teaching is important and that's their main focus. |
| Sounds like the PS parents were contacted; anyone in the PK class hear that they got in? |
Hi, I applied for my two daughters, one for PS-3, and one for K. I heard that my younger one was admitted to PS-3, but I haven't heard anything about the older one. I emailed the principal, and she emailed back to say that there is sibling preference, so if my older daughter was admitted that means my younger one is too. (I'm not 100% sure if that also means that since my younger one was admitted, my older one is too -- I think so). Anyway it's wierd that I heard about one of them but not the other one, so maybe they've just sent out emails / letters for the PS-3 class like you said. |
I emailed the principal back inquiring what number we were, she promptly responded back...#22 in pk3 WL! I am really impressed with the admin thus far! |

I agree that the Admin has been very responsive. (We are waitlisted as well - but not as high as a PP)
Personally, I am disappointed with the new location - it really makes the school out of reach for us. We have a very solid option post preS but wanted to see what Center For Inspired Teaching had to offer. It is not worth for us to drive all the way across the city to test it out. Best of luck to the school and all those who will be attending. |
Wow - we really did not have luck here as my child has a # that starts with a 6. Thank goodness my oldest had good lottery luck at another PCS and we will have sibling priority for PreK next year. |
