Once you become a believer in something "ridiculous on the surface", then why be constrained? Some believe that God had a son who was a white man born in the Middle East to a virgin mother? Why not believe in God with an elephant's head?

Didn't you say that the Bible doesn't teach that women are inferior? There's a heck of a lot of Bible that isn't the words of Jesus.

Also, you show ME a single Christian who lives a Christ-like life, eschewing all that "other" nonsense. Nope. The really devout followers love them some fire and brimstone and judging.

If Christianity only taught and followed the teachings of Christ, the world would be a better place. But, that's not how it is.
